I froze
"Xander's army"
A man walked upfront and I immediately recognised him as one of the men who chased me in Dad's company some months ago.
"Do you know how long we've tried to find you?" he asked with an evil smirk on sending chills down my spine
I heard the sound of heels getting closer and soon Avery was beside me
"It was a trap wasn't it?" I asked her and she looked at me confused before vigorously shaking her head
"Of course not. Matt, what's going on?" She asked the man infront and he bowed his head a bit showing his respect before speaking
"Ma'am I'm just following orders from the boss" he said and she looked at him waiting for more information
"And that is?" She asked
"To capture Katie Willson" he said as he pointed a finger at me and Avery looked like she had gotten a heart attack
"So it's true?" She asked herself before looking back at the man
"Why?" She asked again but he just shrugged
"Only your husband knows the answer to that Ma'am" he said before signaling his men to take me
They got closer and were ready to grab me but I smirked at them making the Matt guy grin
"What's so funny beautiful?" He asked as he broke his knuckles
"The fact that I'm not scared of you any longer" I said
He snapped his fingers and his men came charging at me. If there was something that I had learnt from all this crazy episode in my life, it was how to act strong and be strong
I fought all of his men with every strength and skill in me that I had used to fight agent Zip, the bull and even Jace.
I got cut with a stupid guy's pocket knife, my lip had burst and a knife was sticking out of my arm
Suddenly a car zoomed into the scene and out jumped Freddie. She kicked the last remaining guys butt's and shot the stubborn ones
"KATE LET'S GO" She yelled and we entered the car before she sped off as police cars started appearing at the scene
I looked out the window to see Avery staring at me with tears in her eyes
I looked away and focused on what just and was about to happen
"Fuck those guys" Freddie cursed and I laughed
"You almost got killed Kate" she exclaimed but I shrugged
"But I'm not"
"By the way, I thought you were on your way to the place?" I asked
"I was. But then I got a call from the leader who sent me to get you saying he had a bad feeling about you meeting that woman" she said and I nodded thinking of how Jace still cared about me even though I had insulted him
Freddie drove the car like a crazy person and obviously exceeded the speed limit
"No doubt we're going to jail after this" I said but she scoffed
"Fortunately, I'm not yet eighteen" she said
"Juvie it is then" I added and she smirked
The car immediately came to a stop infront of an old mansion and Freddie and I flew out to where the other agents were waiting outside
