Everyone drew in a sharp, pained breath as they watched the small frame of Flapjack being crushed. Everyone couldn't speak, no one could run to stop him. It was as if time froze. Belos forced Hunter to let out a cruel and amused laugh. However, something unexpected happened, something Belos didn't prepare for. Hunter's hand grabbed the wrist of the hand that was killing Flap, forcing the hand to let go. Flapjack flew to Luz, barely just making it to Luz's warm and welcoming embrace.

"No- no! Stop! I want you to stop!!!!" Belos screamed as Hunter's hands began to fight back, punching and scratching, falling to his knees. Hunter began to shake his head, breathing heavily. Getting out of that place took everything he had, keeping control asked for him to keep going despite having no energy left. His eyes returned to his beautiful crimson red. Willow watched and wanted to run to him. Hunter was still there! She had to help- but she couldn't move. She tried to stop him before but... he completely just destroyed her. She felt like such a coward as she watched Hunter struggle on his own.

Hunter looked at the ground, it was made of dirt, he gripped it in his hands. Feeling the damp, cold soil in his green, mucky palms. Reminding him he was here, he was alive, he could stop him. He looked at everyone, they looked exhausted, they had done so much for him, showed him love and compassion. It was his turn to help them. He looked at the vial of blood. He gritted his teeth as he grabbed the vial and stood up. Stumbling his way to the water. His body felt worse than being on fire, it felt cold, sickly, he felt movement in every inch of his figure, it was like his skin was going to fall off at any moment, but he kept going. Despite him about to crumble from exhaustion, dehydration, and starvation, he couldn't stop... no, he wouldn't stop, not yet.

"You know what I'd like Belos?" He asked, his movement fueled by the fire he had to protect everyone from the man that had lied to him, abused him, caused him so much suffering "I would like to leave the emperor's coven, and never step foot into that throne room again" he said, painful memories flooding his mind at the mere thought of that horrible place. He shoved that stuff to the side. He was not going to let him win, he wasn't going to be overtaken by the pain, not yet. "I'd like to study wild magic, and learn how to carve palisman." He hissed through his teeth, fighting back the pain as he crumpled to the ground in front of the water. He looked up at Willow... he hated that look. She looked afraid, heartbroken, like she wanted to help, but didn't know how. Despite the pain he gave her a small smile. He didn't want to leave without saying goodbye. He had a feeling he wouldn't survive this, and leaving all of them without letting them know he was going to be okay? Well that was something he would never do "I would like to attend Hexside as a regular student, and play flyer derby with my friends" he said with tears in his eyes as he watched Willow smile, it was a saddened but understanding smile. He felt strength beyond anything in that moment. His grip tightened around the vial in his hand as he looked at the water. Belos had mocked him his entire life, it was his turn. He looked at the water with such intent he almost laughed.
