Since getting married, I've noticed a shift in my relationship with my friends, Emma and Josh. Our once tight bond has loosened, replaced by an awkwardness that hangs heavy in the air whenever we cross paths at work. Emma's early exits leave me with Josh's distant company, a stark reminder of the changes in our lives.
I find myself yearning for the days of carefree laughter and shared secrets, a time before our spouses entered the picture.
While I understand that marriage alters priorities, there are moments when all I want is the comfort of familiar friendship.
Summoning the courage, I reach out to Emma, crafting a message that echoes my longing for connection.
Hey emma whats up how's nathan and how are you? Is everything great
I shake my head staring at my message re reading it, it sounds formal
Emma where are you nowadays its like we don't spend more time together, you should come over tonight
This one is much better, I send the text as I scroll through my album looking at our pictures together
Yes I love Oliver more than anything but right now I just want to go back to the time where emma and me were both single and didn't even knew that our husbands existed
Emma text back a few minutes later
Chloe I miss you bae.. and no I am not coming over instead you and Oliver should come and join us for dinner, me and nathan would love that!
I smile at her text
Okay.. I'll ask oliver ( I'll choke him if he says no), we'll surely be there :)
She responds in a heartbeat with 6 laughing emojis
I see who's dominant in you both ;)
She teases me, I raise my eyebrows my tongue touching inside of my cheek as I chuckle with the thought, a faint blush appears on my cheek when I realise that no one knows how dominant my husband is
ehm ehm no comments hahah, I'll see you tonight bye love you
I should tell all of this to my dear husband, he's in his office room right now downstairs.
"You cussed" I say as I leaned against the doorway, a slight smirk playing on my lips, reminding him about last time
my eyes couldn't help but linger on his meticulously groomed appearance. His dark hair was styled with precision, framing his chiseled features with two artfully tousled strands cascading over his forehead.
the room was filled with his heavenly scent which make me weak in my knees every damn time
Dressed in a sleek black vest accentuating his lean physique, he exuded an effortless sophistication that was impossible to ignore.
The crisp white shirt underneath hugged his form, its sleeves rolled up to reveal his toned forearms, adding a hint of rugged masculinity to his polished ensemble.
I found myself drawn to his magnetic presence like a moth to a flame. His emerald eyes, framed by dark lashes, sparkled with amusement as they met mine, captivating me in their mesmerizing depths.
It was as if he knew the effect he had on me and reveled in the power he held over my senses.
It will be a shame to say he isn't one of the hottest person alive, those green eyes were amused as they notice me
