" I'm sure we've met before," the woman said like she didn't just hear me say I didn't want them here.

" Who the hell are you?" Markus asked in a hard voice that for a moment I was scared.

" Please Markus make them leave please," I said as I took hold of his hand that was close to me.

" You heard her, if she doesn't want you here, you have to leave," Markus said as he pointed towards the door.

" If I want to see my daughter, there's nothing you can do about it," my father suddenly said as Markus turned to look between him and me.

" Don't call me your daughter, you have no right,"

" Jane darling your father just wanted to make sure you were okay," Is something wrong with her? What gave her the right to think she could intervene in our matter?

" Maybe you should have asked me if I was okay when he left us for you, maybe then I would have had an answer for you, so take your husband and get the hell out of here,"

My father looked at me like he wanted to say something but the look in my eyes must have told him I wasn't interested in whatever he had to say.

He looked at me one last time before he and his wife left and I couldn't help but breathe in relief, I don't want that to ever happen again.

" Are you okay?" Markus asked me but was I? No, without meaning to I started crying.

" I don't think I want to ever see him in my life again, what does he want with me all of a sudden? He left us Markus, he left a woman who loved him for another woman, the woman who gave everything for him, why is he trying to get into my life," I said as tears rolled down my eyes.

Markus wiped the tears from my eyes as he cupped my cheeks. But I looked down in shame refusing to let him see my tears.

" Hey, look at me," I obeyed as my eyes looked up to him but I couldn't hold the contact for too long, I had to look back down.

" I'm going to make sure he never comes near you, you don't have to worry about him, everything is okay now, do you understand?" He said and I nodded.

After the incident and my crying episode Markus refused to leave my side before I could lift my hand to get something, his hand was already doing it before I could even reach for whatever it was.

He was acting like the husband he wasn't.

I had already been in this hospital for four days and Markus had been treating me like a queen, there was this time I wanted to go to the bathroom and was about to climb down the bed to go there by myself at that moment he wasn't in the room but he came back just in time as my feet hit the ground and he wasn't pleased. He scolded me saying I should have called him to come help me.

And before I could give an explanation he carried me bridal style to the restroom and even stayed although I told him I wanted him to go but he bluntly told me to my face that he got me pregnant so he had seen everything. I couldn't help but blush.

The only thing that was left to heal was the broken ankle I had which prevented me from walking and the doctor said that I needed to avoid putting it on the ground to avoid further damage.

Now the fifth day in this hospital and I was getting tired of it, but I couldn't deny that I liked the attention I was getting from Markus, he just wouldn't leave my side well he just did since I told him he stinked because he had refusing to go home to take a shower after I woke up this morning.

I was brought out from my sulking thought when I heard a knock on the door.

" Come in," I said as my eyes were cast down as I busied myself with removing the yarn in the hospital bed cover, I was bored.

" You look bored out of my mind," I heard the voice I've become so used to and I raised my head, spotting a smile on my face.

" Hardin!! I've missed you," I said as he made his way towards the bed and then he took the empty chair beside me.

" How did you know I was here?" I asked him as I took the peanut butter he handed me, he knew me well.

" I've been unable to reach you for a while now, tried calling but it wasn't going through, I was worried sick but somehow I ran into your maid at the grocery store, she told me you were involved in a fire accident and I had to come see you. Lola is here too but she just saw a client of hers and decided to greet him before coming in,"

" Did someone say the name Lola?" Lola's cheerful voice suddenly filled the room.

" Weirdo," I heard Hardin mutter as he rolled his eyes and I couldn't help but wonder the type of relationship they must have, I wish I had a sibling.

" Jane I'm so glad you're okay," Lola said as she came to stand beside me opposite from her brother and I couldn't help but feel much love.

" I didn't know what to get you so I thought I should get you these," she said as she handed me a box of chocolate.

" Awwww thanks, I love them," I told her as I started opening the wrap of one of them which happens to be my favorite.

" How did it all happen?" Lola asked me as she passed a look to her brother I didn't quite understand.

" I'm sorry Lola but I don't like to think about it, all I can say is I woke up and my room was on fire, but somehow I survived."

" It must have been so horrible, so sorry honey," she said as she hugged me, well to the extent my stomach could allow us.

" What are you doing here? " A new voice suddenly spoke and he didn't sound anything near please. Hardin was here and he didn't like that.

" Mr Arthur? " Lola asked in shock and I  looked between Markus and her in confusion.
