Chapter 4: Hurry Up

She finally moves her head in his direction. He takes his sketch scope and checks on her, later he runs some basic tests. "Do you remember who you are?" he asks and she nods her head. "Who are you?" he asks looking at me and assuring me with a nod. I nod back at him.

With struggle, she says "Cass... Cass...andra"

"Perfect now who is this person sitting next to you?" he asks her and she looks at me and said "Vince...Vincent" I don't know if I should be happy or not because she is not hinting if she remembers our marriage.

"Who?" Dr. Petrova asks seeing my mood change. "He is asking who am I to you?" I encouraged her to answer. She gives me a weird look and says "Husband" Finally I take in a deep breath and smile at her and say "Finally you remember, I am on cloud nine baby."

Later on the doctor without wasting a second runs tests on her for nearly 3 hours. Now I was sitting on the bed with her leaning on to me. I can finally calm down listening to her hearbeat for the first time after four months without the help of ventilators.

We both were silent and enjoying each other's embrace. I asked her "Should I call and inform your parents? They are all worried sick about you. Also, I have good news for you."

"Do.. don't call them yet... I am feel...feeling over...whelmed, I will see them later." She replies yet struggling to frame a proper sentence. "Hmm fine you know Aiden and Chloe welcomed a baby boy Asher last week."

"Wow" she said and I showed her his photo, she was gawking at it and smiling. "Baby, what is the last thing you remember?" I ask.

"I don't quite rem... remember. I guess we went to lunch at Osteria, why do you ask?"

Thank god she does not remember, or else she would have been aloof after the accident. The accident occurred because I lost control of my emotions. That day when I went to take up the phone call near a reception room, I found Hazel and Nick kissing. I lost it and was in deep thought like how can they even do that to me.

In the same daze I picked up Cassandra and moved to the car and started to drive aimlessly, I felt Mom's words were true and he was just a cheater, he knew we had a history, even then he got close to her and now even married, but I don't want to hold grudges only for Cassandra's sake.

Nearly around five she wanted to meet Nick and Aiden, so I called both of them and said "Please come to the hospital as soon as possible" I said and cut the call as I wanted it to be a suspense.

They both barge into the room at the same time. Aiden cries "Cassandra" and Nick shouts "What's wrong man?" they both still didn't see Cassandra but start to shout. When their eyes finally landed on her, they were rooted in their place and I said "Look finally she is awake."

"Hey Cassandra how are you? You are fine? Do you even remember me?" Aiden asked.

"I am..am fine. Who are you?" Cassie asks. She is probably playing with him. "Fuck, she does not remember us, Vincent, what to do now? She even forgot you?" Nick asked me.

"Yep she forgot all of us, but no worries I introduced her  myself as her husband and she believes me." I said and he questioned, "Great, now introduced us as well, it's no problem, even if she forgets the best part of her life, is she is back with us."

"I can't as she does not want to be near anyone and she is afraid, that's why she is clinging on to me like this." I said and she struck me on my arms and says "I am not clingy on you but you are not leaving me."

They both laugh at me and Aiden says "Hi Cassandra, I am Aiden, your brother."

"Ohh but I wanted a sister" Cassandra said and I busted out laughing. Aiden's jaw drops and looks at me for help, so I pitch in "No Cassandra, you are absolutely right in wishing for what you want."
