Vincents POV

Seeing her holding my hand, was like heaven, I had been waiting for this day for the past four months. My Cassandra was tugging on to my hand. With a small hope, I called her out, "Cassandra, baby you are awake? Please get up, and open those beautiful eyes. Say something, or at least if you are hearing me out show some sign."

I wait for her to open her eyes but she does not, without losing hope I say "Baby it's me, Vincent, maybe it is difficult to open your eyes all of a sudden, just give me a hard press on my hand Cassandra, or just move your fingers."

After a minute I feel her palms press mine. I was so delighted, I just wanted to encourage her to open her eyes so I said "Cassandra I broke your heart, that I may never mend, but did create some beautiful memories, that may never end, I gave you some wet tears that will never dry, my love for you will never die, just be with me baby, please wake up, I know you are awake, try to open your eyes slowly."

After I few seconds she tried to flutter her eyes open, but she found it difficult to open so I held my hand in such a way that her eyes wouldn't be facing direct light, shielding her eyes. She finally opens her eyes and looks at me. I smile at her and kiss her forehead. After a lot of struggle from her, she tries to remove the oxygen mask.

"What is it, Cassandra? Do you need anything?" I ask and she stares at me blankly. She takes a few deep breaths, I feel she is struggling to breathe properly so without wasting a second, I tap on the bell placed near her for emergencies.

A nurse appears and soon sees Cassandra struggling to breathe, so she rushes out, while I hold onto Cassandra's hand and try to calm her. Dr. Petrova rushes in and hurries to check on her. Now her breathing intensifies. The nurses were moving here and there. Dr. Petrova later takes a pipe and tries to insert it into her mouth, she struggles and looks at me for help, I press her palms firmly and said "Don't worry I am here with you."

After inserting the pipe, she tears up and fights hard to remove it, so the nurse holds on to her hands and the doctor injects her, she slowly falls unconscious but her hold on my hand is still firm and not ready to let go. I look at Dr Petrova, he smiles at me and says "Your hope in her recovery is a true blessing, you inspire me, your four months of wait did let you down, congratulation Mr. Loronzo she is perfectly fine, she will regain her conscious in next two hours, later we can run some tests on her."

"She is fine? She did come back for me right?" I ask with excitement in my voice, finally, she brought back emotions in me, that she took away from me.

"Off course, she is fine, physically all her wounds have healed, we have to run a few tests to see, if she lost memory or she is traumatized" the doctor said.

"Lost her memory? Will she forget me?" I ask as I stare at her, deep down I was shit scared that she forgot me.

"I can't be sure now, but since her head was injured I speculate she might have temporary memory loss but don't worry she will understand your love, you spent almost every second waiting for her, your love will surely pay off" he said.

"You are right even if she forgets everything, I will be her world, I will love and cherish her." I said and kissed her knuckles.

*****

After two and a half hours, I see her stirring in her sleep and remember our first night as a married couple when she fell off the couch. I smile at the memory and she opens her eyes. I hit on the bell to notify the doctor. She looks at me with curiosity in her eyes. I smile at her but she does not return it back.

Dr. Petrova reaches us and looks at her and introduces himself but she does not show any interest in him, she just stares at me. The doctor saw me helplessly and said out loud clasping his hands "I am happy to see that you have recovered, now let's run some tests to find out whats the final verdict is."
