The Kent family was eating breakfast when Sam came into the house, Kate looked up at him with a smile as he came into her view. She had planned to eat a bit faster than usual because she and Marcus had plans to go to the arcade outside of town before the meteor shower night.

"Hey, Grandpa," Kate greeted as the man came in

"Boys, Kate, how's it feel to be halfway through high school? Goes fast, doesn't it?" Sam asked the three

"Not fast enough," Jordan remarked to the older man

"Hey, are you two gonna help set up for the meteor shower on Main Street?" Lois asked her sons

"Uh, yeah, it's tomorrow," Jon responded as he grabbed an apple

"That was nice of you to volunteer to help Coach Gaines," Lois added as well

"Well, he does think that Jon destroyed his football program," Jordan commented earning a glare

"Jordan, do you have plans for the summer yet?" Clark asked his oldest

"I don't know, not really," Jordan admitted with a sigh

"What about you, Katie? I know Jon's going to the firehouse," Sam asked his granddaughter

"All I know is that Marcus wants to go to a concert with me sometime in June," Kate responded to her grandfather

"Okay, well, you're not just gonna sit around here moping the whole time," Clark stated in response

"I'm not gonna be helping you save people either, am I?" Jordan questioned their father

"No, I didn't tell you to pose for those photos, I told you to go home and this is on you," Clark reminded before Jordan scoffed and walked out

"How long do you plan on keeping Jordan from using his powers?" Sam asked looking at the adults

"That's completely up to him," Lois explained to her father

"I get it but as a parent who made a lot of mistakes, don't let that anger inside him fester much longer," Sam spoke with concern

"Okay, I'm off to meet Marcus so is there anything else before I go?" Kate questioned her family

"You and I have that fishing trip coming up, remember?" Sam asked as she nodded

"Two weeks," Kate agreed with a smile

"Be home before dark, okay?" Lois asked her daughter

"Yeah, I know," Kate spoke before walking out

Kate laughed at her parents before heading outside to meet Marcus at the end of the road, he let her play whatever songs she wanted as he drove. Kate and Marcus were playing against each other at the hockey table which Marcus was winning.

"You are cheating," Kate claimed to her boyfriend

"Careful, the last time you said, you ended up in my bed," Marcus charmed as she scoffed

"You can't say that," Kate scolded the boy

"It's not like anyone here is listening," Marcus covered to the blonde

"My dad likes to check in on us kids so I'd watch what you are saying," Kate remarked making him freeze

"He's not going to kill me if he finds out, right?" Marcus asked making her laugh

"And that is how you win at table hockey," Kate remarked as she won

"Oh, so you are the one who is cheating," Marcus scolded his girlfriend

"Careful, you're coming after my responses," Kate mocked the boy

"And you are stealing mine," Marcus stated with a smile

"We have to get back, I'm supposed to meet my parents and brothers for dinner," Kate explained as she looked at her phone

Marcus nodded before they left, he had dropped her off in front of the diner but dinner ended up being a bust since Jordan was still upset about not being able to use his powers. Kate had gone to meet up with Marcus before grabbing their seats.

"So, your dad is getting remarried and you are about to have another sister or a brother," Kate spoke as she looked at her boyfriend

"Yeah, I'm happy that my dad is happy again," Marcus admitted looking at his father

"Everything seems to be changing," Kate spoke with a soft smile

"Maybe for the better," Marcus agreed with his girlfriend

"Hey, mom where's dad?" Kate questioned as they walked up

"Something happened and he had to go take care of it," Lois responded vaguely

"Clark Kent Wise or Superman Wise?" Kate questioned some more

"I think you know," Lois admitted with a sight

"I don't think he's winning, Mrs. Kent," Marcus spoke pointing to the bloody man

"Dad?" Kate mumbled seeing Clark

"What's happening?" Jon asked his twin

"I can't hear him breathing anymore," Jordan admitted with worry

"Clark," Lois whined while looking at the sky

Marcus pulled Kate closer to him as they watched in horror of the monster carrying Superman by the throat up to the sky. Kate felt warm tears streaming down her face as she sobbed for her dad.
