"𝗜'𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆,"

Today was not going as planned for Kate, she overslept and couldn't find the jeans she wanted to wear with the top she had picked out the night before. Everyone was staring at her and her brothers since they had just found out that their grandfather runs the DOD and they were not happy that they were still shacked up in town.

"Dude, is it true? Your grandpa runs the DOD?" A boy asked as they came up

"Yeah, something like that," Kate responded to the boy

"Sounds like some Get Out level stuff went down so how'd Edge do it?" Another boy asked

"Okay, gentlemen, head to the gym, you too," A teacher added as she walked past

"Yes, ma'am," Jon whispered before Kate walked away

"Ignore them," Marcus directed as he walked up to her

"Everyone is asking us about what happened when the most we know is that Mom and Grandpa got into contact with Superman," Kate covered to her boyfriend

"Well, how would you feel for a break?" Marus suggested in a whisper

"What, like we skip?" Kate asked in return

"Just for a couple hours then we can come back before they even realize that we are gone," Marcus convinced before she sighed

Kate sighed before taking his hand as he led her out of the school, Marcus had driven her to one of the most peaceful places Kate had ever seen. Marcus chuckled at her amazement before pulling her onto the trail.

"You're still not okay with this, are you?" Marcus asked once they got out of the car

"I just feel Iike I need an alibi but, if we get caught, I'll just say it was my fault," Kate admitted looking up at him

"You don't need to take the blame for me," Marcus deadpanned to his girlfriend

"It was my choice, too," Kate stated with an eye roll

"Oh, good, cause if we get caught, I'm totally gonna blame you and they'd believe me, a totally hot girl asks you to skip the day with her like I'm gonna say no," Marcus joked pushing her lightly

"So throw me under the bus, just Iike that?" Kate asked pretending to be offended

"Yeah, throw, push, shove..." Marcus trailed off in thought

"And what if I decide to drag you down with me?" Kate questioned the boy

"I'd just yell for help," Marcus remarked to the blonde

"Well, what if I did this?" Kate asked before kissing him

"I'd beg for mercy," Marcus whispered after pulling away

"So, where does this trail end?" Kate asked as she started walking again

"Well, It stops at the visual of a waterfall, I found it one day after I had gotten into a fight with my parents," Marcus explained making her nod

"It is peaceful so I will give you that," Kate prompted in return

Marcus nodded his head before she jumped on his back causing him to chuckle before going on to walk. They walked to the lookout point, Kate pulled out her phone and took some photos, one of the waterfall and then one of her and Marcus kissing in front of the waterfall. After a few, they decided that it was best for them to head back to school. Jordan and Sarah were arrested for trespassing while Marcus and Kate were back at school.

"How are you the only one who isn't getting in trouble for skipping?" Jon asked they sat in his room

"I didn't come back home or get arrested, I went back to school and got my schoolwork," Kate explained to her brothers

"Yeah, probably should've gone back to school, Jon," Jordan agreed with their sister

"But do you wanna see those photos I got of the waterfall we saw?" Kate asked pulling out her phone

"Did you just take that today?" Jon asked looking at her lock screen

"Yeah, it was so peaceful there and I wanted to take something of us since it was really nice to get away from everything," Kate admitted in a soft tone

"Well, you seem happy for once so we'll give him that," Jordan comfted their sister

Kate gave them a smile before Jon and Jordan was called downstairs for their lectures while Kate went to her room to catch up on her schoolwork for the day and what she had missed. She kept glancing down at her phones lockscreen every now and then which painted a smile on her face.
