Kate still hadn't wrapped her head around her mother having Cancer, she knew that her mother was strong enough to fight it but there was always that small slither of doubt in the back of her mind. Kate had only told Marcus since he was the person she went to after she had found out about it, he was worried about Lois and how Kate was taking it.

"How is your mom?" Marcus asked his girlfriend

"It's her first round of chemo today so she's nervous," Kate answered looking at him

"How are you doing?" Marcus asked watching her face

"It's still hard to believe and part of me is still waiting for them to say sike and say it's not true but they aren't going to because it was happening," Kate admitted with a sad voice

"Hey, everything will be okay and your mom is a fighter so she'll get through this," Marcus comforted pulling her into him

"I'm closer to my dad but that doesn't mean that I can live without her," Kate sobbed into his chest

"You're not going to lose her for a very long time," Marcus stated as he rubbed her back

"And here comes my brothers," Kate stated as she quickly wiped her eyes

"So is there anything else you didn't tell her about the party?" Natalie questioned the boy

"Ah, you mean Eliza? You know, I just had a lot going on," Jon excused his actions

"Can't use Mom as an excuse," Kate scolded her brother

"Okay, it was just a kiss, though," Jon cleared with the group

"From your ex-girlfriend," Natalie added in support

"Who bought you a gold chain, that he's still wearing," Kate pointed out

"It was expensive," Jon pointed out in response

"Dude, what is wrong with you?" Marcus questioned his best friend

"Okay, I will tell her about Eliza just stop judging me," Jon stated before walking

"If you ever do that, I will de-ball you," Kate scolded her boyfriend

"Noted," Marcus mumbled under his breath

The group had watched Jon walk off in a grumble, Jordan and Kate had shared a look. Kate shook her head before walking to her class. The next day, Kate, Jon, and Jordan were with Natalie looking at the watch they were going to give to their mother as a gift.

"Can't believe it has this many moving parts," Jordan commented looking at it

"And it doesn't need a battery?" Jon asked in confusion

"Nope, it runs on kinetic energy just like my dad's hammer," Natalie explained some more

"Was it super expensive?" Kate questioned the girl

"It's priceless because she made it," John Henry spoke in a soft tone

"Wow, that must've taken forever," Jordan agreed with a smile

"Dad helped," Natalie spoke before they looked at the man

"Well, it's awesome that you're letting us give this to our mom," Jon spoke to the man

"It was Nat's decision," John Henry stated before walking out

"Is your dad cool with this?" Kate questioned looking back at her

"Well, it's my watch to give and this is what I'm doing with it so come on, we're gonna be late for school," Natalie stated before they all walked out

School went okay but Kate was a bit bummed that Marcus was sick and wasn't there at school because of it. Jon's truck was stolen and they had figured that Candice's dad had taken it since he had commented the night before,

"So that whole X-ray vision thing you got, is that gonna kick in?" Jon asked his twin

"I don't know, man," Jordan responded with a sigh

"I just feel like it would really come in handy right about now," Jon mumbled before Natalie flew back

"Hedy was right, this is the place," Nat stated taking off the helmet

"I mean, did she mention it was full of shady dudes with guns, 'cause I hear 'em in there," Jordan remarked to the girl

"She found the truck, didn't she?" Nat scolded the boy

"So what now, call the sheriff?" Jordan asked looking between them

"By the time she gets here, it'll be too late and besides, isn't this what you've been training for?" Kate questioned watching him

"Dad would kill me. I mean, he says I can't do this kind of stuff alone," Jordan explained to his sister

"Well, then, I'll do it myself, I'm getting that watch back," Nat stated in a tone

"Fine, it's all of us but we cannot be seen," Jordan spoke looking at his twin

"Can't you just speed in there, knock 'em all out?" Jon questioned in confusion

"I mean, maybe, but we'd have to take out any cameras first," Jordan spoke causing them to nod

"No, forget that. I have a better idea, how long can you hold your breath?" Nat questioned the three

Natalie's plan had ended up working out and they had gotten the truck back, Kate was lying down on her bed reading a book. She ended up dozing off as she read so she closed the book then decided to call it a night.
