Kate was sitting in the kitchen with their parents as Jon had gone to try on his trainee uniform, once he had it on he walked back into the room causing Jordan and Kate to bust out laughing at the look of it.
"I look like a deflated balloon," Jon stated as he sighed
"I guess it's vintage?" Kate questioned with a chuckle
"Mr. Cushing says I gotta wear a trainee uniform until I earn a better one," Jon explained to the group
"Who's Rusty?" Lois questioned looking at the name
"I don't know, but the crew keeps saying he died in these," Jon spoke before Jordan flew in
"Dad, I beat the last fortress hologram, and it was that Kryptonian martial arts lady and you look like a guy who made a wish to be a kid again," Jordan remarked as he looked at his twin
"Hilarious, I have to go and if I'm late, the crew might make me dress up as a Dalmatian or something," Jon stated before walking out
"Hey, it might be an improvement," Kate joked as she watched Jon leave
"Take it easy on him, he's training just like you," Lois scolded her kids
"All right, well, Dad said that after I win the last hologram fight, I can do some saves on my own," Jordan reminded the man
"That is not even close to what I said. I'm sure it's what you wanted to hear me say, it's your dad, something's happening with Deadline," Clark explained to his wife as he listened
"It's been over a month since you've fought him so maybe he's finally ready to talk," Lois suggested looking at him
"Well, whatever it is, it sounds urgent so are you coming with me?" Clark asked his wife
"Maybe you should go ahead, I overdid it a little plus, I have plenty to do here," Lois admitted in a soft voice
"Can I go?" Jordan questioned with convincing eyes
"Just for backup, stay here with your mom and we'll talk about your training later," Clark stated before heading out
Kate had gone to hang out with Marcus but what she didn't expect was for the house to be empty leaving them alone, they were playing a small game of dark hide and seek with Marcus looking around for her.
"You know, I'm tracking you by your laughs, right?" Marcus questioned as he reached out to the wall
"I think you are cheating," Kate called out causing him to scoff
"I am anything but a cheater," Marcus remarked acting offended
"Prove it," Kate mumbled before removing his mask
"See, now you want me to cheat in this round," Marcus mumbled before kissing her
"Maybe, I do," Kate mumbled before pulling off his shirt
Later on in the day, Kate and Marcus were lying in his bed watching a movie when Sarah asked if they had seen Sophie. Kate and Marcus had put their shoes on to go help them look for Sophie and when they did find her, she was at the fairgrounds. Kate and Jon could relate to what she was thinking so they wanted to try first to talk to her.
"Last summer was our first time at the fair and Sarah says you guys used to go all the time," Kate started looking at the little girl
"Must be tough, everything with your mom and your dad," Jon spoke looking at the ground
"Everyone always forgets about me and they never want me around," Sophie ranted in a soft tone
"We know how you feel," Kate admitted causing her to look at them
"In our family, I'm pretty much always the one that's left out, our parents, our brother, they're kind of a big deal, so..." Jon added as Sophie scoffed
"Jordan's not a big deal, I mean, Sarah dumped him," Sophie called out to the teens
"That's true, you're not wrong," Kate agreed with the girl
"When we first moved here, it was like everyone from my old life was just gone and I felt alone," Jon started to explain
"He even tried to convince our parents to let him move back to Metropolis," Kate added in agreement
"By yourself?" Sophie asked in shock
"It was not a good idea," Kate spoke looking at her brother
"I was just upset, I just took that out on my brother but when things got tough, he always had my back,"
"That's what family does," Kate added in agreement
"But that's your family, mine doesn't care about me," Sophie stated with tears
"I kind of doubt that and you should've seen how fast your sister made me drive, I should probably lose my license," Jon joked with the girl
Sophie ended up running to her family who gave Jon and Kate grateful looks, Kate laid her head on Jon's shoulder in comfort. She knew that they related in that aspect but she hadn't realized how much it affected her until she and Jon told Sophie about it.
