Jon and Jordan had started the morning by fighting over a hoodie while Kate and their parents were eating breakfast downstairs. Kate was just happy to go to the diner and away from the chaos with the boys. She let out a deep breath causing Marcus to look over at her with a look before she scoffed and looked over to the boy.

"Tough morning, already?" Marcus asked causing her to nod

"You have no idea," Kate commented with a small smile

"Wanna talk about it?" Marcus questioned the blonde

"Mom had her first round of chemo yesterday and she's already becoming clumsy," Kate explained to her boyfriend

"She'll be okay and so will you," Marcus comforted as he pulled her in

"It's going to take a lot more than cancer to drag Lois Lane down," Kate joked with a chuckle

"See, you're already starting to get some faith," Marcus spoke in a whisper

"It's the only way we can move on," Kate stated before she smiled

"Atta Girl," Marcus remarked before kissing her

"Now, I was thinking of getting the watermelon milkshake instead," Kate spoke looking at the menu

"Oh, are we changing it up today?" Marcus remarked as she nodded

"What can I say, I'm a girl of adventure," Kate joked with her boyfriend

Marcus laughed as he shook his head, she had ordered the milkshake which she did not like at all so he gave her his, they were joking around before Kate looked to see her Dad standing there next to Candice's dad with a threatening look.

"Dad? Is everything okay?" Kate asked before Clark nodded

"Emmitt Pergande? I'm Jon Kent's dad, Lois Lane's husband and we need to talk," Clark stated to the man

"Get the hell out of my face," Emmitt scolded the Kent man

"You hit my son, pulled a gun on my wife, and now you and I are gonna step outside so we can talk," Clark called out the man

"I'm not going anywhere with you," Emmitt remarked turning back to his friend

"I'd rather not do this in front of your daughter," Clark spoke looking at Candice

"Do you think she hasn't seen this before?" Emmitt questioned before Clark pinned him to the counter

"Now, if you ever threaten my family again, take something that isn't yours, or sell another dangerous drug, I will come for you and my wife will expose who you are, and you will go away for a very long time, now leave," Clark warned as he let the man go

"Damn, Kent," Kyle remarked to the man as Kate stood up

"I'm gonna go," Kate mumbled to the Cushing family

"Keep us updated," Marcus spoke before kissing her cheek

"Dad," Kate spoke walking up to him

"I'm sorry to interrupt everyone's dinner and, um, I'm sorry you had to see that," Clark admitted to the girl

"Did my dad hurt Jon? Can I see him?" Candice asked with concern

"Yeah, of course," Clark stated as she went to go get her items

"Is Jon okay?" Kate asked as she followed her father

Clark had brought them back to the house where they had checked up on the boy before Kate had gone to bed, the next morning Kate walked downstairs to see her mother cooking breakfast with a smile written on her face.

"Yeah, seems like everyone's on their best behavior today,That was very nice of you to offer your seat to Candice, especially compared to how you treated your grandfather the other day," Lois scolded her son

"Did he tell you about that?" Jordan questioned their parents

"Why, wouldn't he?" Kate questioned her brother

"And it's not OK for you to talk to an adult like that, do you understand?" Clark questioned with a stern tone

"Yes, sir," Jordan agreed wth their father

"So you are going to apologize to him and then the two of you are going back to that barbershop," Lois directed before she went on eating

"Your granddad's right and if you wanna keep being a hero, you've got to be careful even if that means doing something you don't wanna do," Clark added in support

Kate looked at Jordan before the boy sighed and walked out, Marcus had picked her up for school. Jon was okay and Candice was staying with them until she could figure out where else she could go.
