After mapping the outer part of the south of Wall Maria, the Survey Scouts returned to Mitras, the capital, to report and regroup. They had to map the other areas too, anyways. Eren and Lexie were to be part on all of that in case titans came around. After all, Eren could fight them off and Lexie could act as a shield of sorts. They did see one titan on their return. Eren turned to Lexie and she knew what he wanted to do. She got off her horse and went to ride with Eren.

"What are you doing?" Levi asked as Lexie got up in front of Eren.

"Testing a theory." Lexie sand and they rode towards the titan. It spotted them and started going towards them.

"You suicidal maniac!" Jean yelled as he and others rode to them.

Once they were close enough, Eren grabbed Lexie's hand and rose it in the air.

"Stop!" Eren yelled, the titan obeyed. The Survey Corps were shocked. "Leave humans alone, do not eat anyone. Continue with your way." He said. The titan left slowly. Lexie and Eren smiled and returned to the group.

"What was that?" Hange asked.

"I remembered something. The last time I used the Founding Titan's abilities, I was punching the hand of a female titan who happened to be my dad's first wife and also of royal blood." Eren explained. "So I thought, I could use it again if I was touching someone of royal blood. Lexie agreed to try."

"Amazing. This is great! No more soldiers will be eaten now." Hange said. Lexie got off Eren's horse and walked to hers.

"What if you guys stay on the same horse? Just in case we encounter an abnormal or something." Floch suggested.

"Good plan." Levi agreed. Lexie nodded and returned to ride with Eren.

Armin and Mikasa both looked away, both were a bit bothered about Eren and Lexie riding together, and it was not just that, they had noticed the two of them having private talks. They knew it was mostly because of the powers the two of them had, but it didn't help how they felt.

After returning to the capital again, Lexie went to her house. She had always offered her friends to stay with them, but they didn't take the offer, preferring to stay with the rest of the soldiers, saying they didn't want to take advantage of her. When she arrived to her manor, she noticed something different, a smell, a smell of a specific type of tea her mom liked. She walked to the garden to see her parents eating normally and comfortably, as if nothing had happened. They looked different, their eyes were tired.

"Dad?" Lexie asked. Her parents turned to her and instantly looked up. Lexie ran to them and hugged them, tears on her face. "You're back."

"We're back, sweety." Her mom said caressing her hair.

"I-I don't understand, where were you? Why did you leave?" She asked.

"We had to be safe from the coup, but not because of what you think, we didn't run away." Her father said.

"We had to go somewhere. There is a forest just outside the west wall, there is a temple there, Ymir's temple." Her mom explained.

"We had it hidden and a secret, but we knew we could find more information there. Information for you." Her father added.

"About... the prophecy?"

"Yes, honey." Her father answered. "Let's go to my office, I'll show you."

Lexie's parents had recovered ancient scrolls and even rocks with carvings in ancient Eldian. They were able to translate most of it thanks to her dad, but she also noticed that now, after getting some memories from other titans, she could perfectly read ancient Eldian.
