"Hey- but I'll help make it-" You started, but he cut you off. "Let me do it. Just find a good blanket to sit on." He insisted with a soft smile. You couldn't say no to that loving face. "Fine then. But I make the food next time" You said, and he chuckled at that before kissing you on the forehead and then turning to walk over to the kitchen counter. "Of course. Now, go find a blanket." He said said with a soft chuckle.
You smiled at his insistence and walked out of the kitchen in search of a blanket. You asked Mabel and she showed you to the closet in her room which was littered with all sorts of things, but you did find a good blanket to sit on. It was a black blanket, maybe dark blue or purple. It had stars all over it, like the galaxy.
You thanked Mabel before folding the blanket and carrying it back to the kitchen, where Ford had somehow found a basket and put a whole picnic in. You had no idea what he packed, but you trusted his judgment. Ford smiled at you before speaking. "I see you've found a decent blanket for us to sit on. The sun will be setting soon, so we should hurry if we want to see it." He said as he picked up the basket.
"Ain't the basket kinda cliché?" You asked, which earned a chuckle from Ford. "Well, yes. But still, it's nice isn't it?" He asked as he walked over to you and took the blanket out of your hands before setting it on the basket he was carrying. "Hey- I could've carried that." You said, but he just smiled at you. "Well, I'm doing it for you."

Now you and Ford were walking through the woods, him carrying the basket and blanket despite how much you insisted that you could carry it. It had been a while since you had been in the woods, due to that thing attacking you. But with Ford, you felt safe enough to be out there. The woods were beautiful to see anyway, so what if there was a little danger? Ford could handle it, right?
You two eventually reached a big open clearing, and it just seemed like a little hill. Ford spoke up. "This, is where an alien spaceship crashed. It's buried beneath the dirt, but there is still an entrance we could go through. Let's focus on seeing the sunset for now though, right?" Ford said while walking up onto the hill, which apparently was a spaceship.
God this town was weird, but you loved it because of that. You followed Ford up onto the little hill and he laid out the stary blanket on the tip of the hill, setting the blanket on top of it. This date was so cheesy, but even the cliché stuff was nice every now and again. You sat on the blanket, and Ford sat next to you, wrapping an arm around you.
You both watched the sun start to set through that crack in the cliffside, right where the bridge was. You looked at the gap in the cliff and realized that with the bridge, it kinda did look like a classic alien spaceship had crashed through, you wanted to point it out, but Ford probably knew that already.
As the sun set, the stars started to appear, and the lightning bugs (or fireflies depending on where you are from) had started to come out. It was a beautiful sight. And honestly, you had forgotten about the food Ford packed for you two until he brought it up. "Do you wish to eat now while there's still a little light? Because it can get pretty dark out here."
"That sounds like a good idea to me." You said softly, looking over to Ford with a smile. So you two started eating. Ford had made sandwiches for you two. He was such a gentleman. Just him doing all this for you made you think that chivalry wasn't dead. After you two ate, you two put what was left of the food in the basket and started stargazing again.
After a few minutes, Ford pulled you close to him with both his hands, and you accepted it and leaned onto him, the both of you still staring up at the stars above. It was a peaceful moment, and the night was getting a bit cold, but Ford was keeping you warm.
"You look immensely more beautiful than any of those stars," Ford said in a soft and loving voice. You felt your face get red as you smiled at the compliment. This man was too sweet for the world, it made you wonder how he was teased in high school for something as silly as his hands, as he was a nice and smart guy.
"Did you ever date anyone before me?" You asked, and he chuckled. "A siren. But as their nature is, she tried eating me." He said calmly. "That's quite a dealbreaker, huh?" You asked with a chuckle, and he laughed a bit. "Yes, I suppose so. Why did you ask?" He asked in a calm manner.
"I was just trying to start a conversation. The silence is nice, but I like hearing your voice more." You said softly, and he smiled warmly. "Well, would you like to hear some stories from those other dimensions I went through? It wasn't all terrible, even though it was mostly bad experiences, there were still some good times." He asked warmly.
You nodded and listened intently to what he had to say. So he started sharing some stories from the dimensions he had visited. Some kinda funny, others weird but in a fun way. You asked questions, and he answered happily in great detail, wanting you to understand exactly what happened.
He was talking and telling stories, and you both lost track of time. You both had to of been out there for hours now, but neither of you could try to care, as you were enjoying time with each other. You eventually did bring it up though. "We've been out here a while, haven't we?" You asked softly. "Yes, I suppose we've been out here for a bit longer than expected. Do you want to head back?" He asked.
You shrugged, "Either way, I'll be spending time with you, so I don't really care." He smiled at that. "Well then, we can stay out here a bit longer." He said as we pulled you in to lean onto him more comfortably. You could sleep in his muscular arms if you truly wanted to.
"I'm glad I got to stay here in Gravity Falls." You started speaking, and he listened. "When I first drove into town, I didn't think I'd be able to stay. But then I ran into Mabel, and she had asked you and Stanley if I could stay at the shack. Which to my genuine surprise, you both agreed. Can I ask why you let me stay?" You asked softly. He smiled at you.
"Stanley was okay with it right off the bat. However, I was hesitant. I didn't want a stranger in the house. But after Mabel told me you had been sleeping in a car, and by the looks of what she saw, living in it. Well, I couldn't help but feel some sympathy for you. So I agreed to let you stay, as I thought it was only gonna be for a week or so. But here we are now." He explained, and you smiled.
"Thank you.." You said softly, and he kissed your forehead before speaking "No problem, dear." He said warmly. You both went back to watching the stars in comfortable silence.
The comforting silence and the starlight overhead while leaning against Ford, was probably the most peaceful moment in your entire life. This serenity was short-lived lived, however, as you both heard a twig snap behind you both. Ford tightened his grip on you, and looked back at the dark woods to try and spot what broke the twig.
