•Part 10 | Roller Skating•

You tied on the old eyepatch and walked downstairs into the kitchen, Mabel was there drawing on some paper. "Good morning kid. You didn't stay up all night did you?" You said pointing finger guns at her. "No I didn't. But remember last night when we were talking about skating? Well maybe you can go with me and my freinds, grenda and candy, dipper said he's staying home to help grunkle Stan in the gift shop and keep him company, but I can convince grunkle Ford to come with us!" She said.

"Oh, well he's probably busy today- so if he says sure then great but don't pull him away from anything important-." You said with a light pink brushed on your face. "Okay- but I'm sure he'll wanna come with us." She said in a 'I know something you don't' tone. With that Mabel walked out of the kitchen and you sat down waiting for her to come back with an answer from Ford.

Ford POV:

I was reading from my old journal when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. With what has happened recently it's hard to guess if it's Mabel or Dipper.
"Mabel? Dipper? Which of you is it?" I said as I spun the chair around to face whoever it was and It was Mabel. "Greeting Mabel, what do you need?" I said as I stood up from the chair.

"Well remember yesterday?" She said, how could I have forgotten. "Yes Mabel it's gonna be hard to forget-" I said then was cut off. "Well then you'll remember I said we were talking about going skating and not your obvious love interest, and we plan to go today, I came to ask if you wanna come with us!" She said hopping in place. "By 'we' who all do you mean?" I say kneeling down to her now.

"Y/N, of course. Candy, Grenda, me and you if you wanna come." She said winking when she said her name. "What about Dipper? Did he not wanna come with us?" I questioned. "He said he wants to help grunkle Stan and keep him company today, besides, he said he won't skate anyway if he did come." Mabel said. "Oh alright then, I'll join you all."

Back To You:

You were relaxing in the kitchen waiting for Ford's response from mabel and after a few minutes, you heard footsteps, but they were bigger. You looked away from the window and to the doorway to see Mabel walking in with Ford close behind her.

"Hey Y/N! He's coming with us! I'll go call Candy and Grenda!" And with that Mabel sprinted out of the room, to her room. "I don't know how to skate but I'd be willing to try it." Ford said sitting across from you at the table. "I can help if you want, besides the trainers are a bit low- you might now be able to grab them properly." You said with a slight chuckle at the end.

He also chuckled with you, it sounded nice, with his deep voice and all. "So you never went skating before? Not even once?" You said questioning him. "Not once, it looked fun I just never tried." You both were chatting for a few more minutes before Mabel came back downstairs and walked into the kitchen. She said candy and grenda were already close the the roller skating rink and you guys should start heading out.

All three of you started your walk to the rink and got there safe and sound. You saw Mabel run up to two kids one looked a bit older the other looked younger. "Y/N! This is Candy-" Mabel said as she pointed to the small girl in glasses as she said "hello!" "And this is Grenda!" She said as she pointed to the big girl on the other side of her "Hi!" Her voice didn't sound like a woman but it was cool nonetheless.

You all walked in and the three kids got skates and started around, eventually realizing they all needed trainers, you walked over and got them for the three. You and Ford were sitting on the side an watching the kids. "Don't you wanna skate Y/N?" He said gesturing to the rink. "Depends, are you gonna skate with me?" You said in a smug manner. He chuckeld and said

"Fine I'll go with you." As he got up and walked to the counter to get skates. You followed quick behind him. You both got skates and put them on you got on the rink with ease and did a lap before remembering, Ford couldn't skate. You rolled over to him as he was clutching the rails on the wall, trying to keep balance.

"Come on I'll give you a hand, here." You said taking his hands and skating backwards, and pulling him along. You could tell he was blushing even in the dim light. "Try to keep your feet parallel" you said as the turn was coming up at the end of the rink. The inevitable happend, you both tripped. You fell backwards and he fell forwards because you were still gripping his hands. Now you could fell yourself blushing.

"Are you ok? I'm sorry-" He said pulling himself off you. "It's fine, I fell my first few times skating-" You said getting back up and pulling him aside. "Are you ok?" You said when you both sat on the side. "Yeah- I- I'm fine." He said stuttering over his words. He was so flustered. "I'll go get us waters. Stay here." You said and took off across the rink, to the food stand side.

After a few moments of waiting in line you came back to Ford with two bottles of water, and handed one to him. "You didn't need to-" He started but you cut him off, "but I wanted to. So take it." He took it as you sipped from the one you got yourself. Mabel zoomed over with her trainer. "Are you guys ok? I saw you guys fall." She said pointing at you both.

"Yeah were fine." You both said at the same time then facing eachother. "Ok, I'm going back out there with Candy and Grenda. Bye!" She said going back out on the rink. "Wanna try again?" You said standing up and offering a hand out to Ford. "I guess-" He said taking your hand and using it for balance.

You were skating around while holding his hands, which were a bit bigger cause the extra finger, but it was nice. At one moment he fell leaning on you but you both were standing. Eventually you let go of him to let him try on his own, he started to fall but you caught him.

It started to get late, you guys all left the rink just after sundown. You Mabel and Ford walked Candy and Grenda to their homes and then walked back to the shack. It was getting dark and you could hardly see, luckily you all got back safe and sound.

Mabel walked up to her room, probably to tell dipper about how much fun they had, and you didn't see where Ford went, you were already on your way upstairs, you were super tired. It's hard skating backwards, and trying to focus on a man that could probably lift you with one arm if he wanted to.

You slipped off the eyepatch you had on, and as soon as you did, the string broke. You figured you should look for the ones you kept loosing constantly. You searched your room top to bottom and eventually found the lost eye patches. You set them down on the bedside table and threw out the one that broke.

You peacefully remade the bed that you ruined after the long search. You put things back in place and reorganized alot of things. Finally you decided to curl up in bed, and slowly drift into a soft and comfortable sleep.
