•Part 8 | A Nice walk•

You woke up to someone shaking your shoulder on the porch. It was Ford, he hand his hand on you shoulder as he was smiling down at you. "You should move inside if you wanna sleep, it's pretty late now, around 10." He said not moving his hand. You were still pretty tired from the sudden awakening.

"Mhm.. yeah- thanks for waking me.." You said standing up and waiting a moment. "Your hand, is still on my shoulder-" you said as you looked at the hand on your shoulder and back to Ford's face. He seemed pretty embarrassed, his face got really red. "Yes- I apologize, I didnt realize it was still there." He said putting both his arms behind his back and looking down.

"It's fine." You say walking inside and waving goodnight as you walk back to your room. You curled up in your bed and were resting there for a few moments before you fell back asleep.

You woke up in the morning and felt pretty relaxed and calm. You got up and got changed, walked downstairs to see the kid twins at the table, talking about taking a walk in the woods later. "Heya kiddos, what's up?" Mabel turns to you and says, "we wanna walk around the woods later, dipper wants to take notes and I like walking around out there, we plan to talk grunkle Ford to come with us. Wait. Dip dip. Can we invite Y/N?"

Dipper paused and turned to you, "Yeah sure you can come, I'll just go ask great uncle Ford if he wants to come along." He says and hops out of the room. "Yes! We can get to know each other better out there! Y'know??" She said smiling up to you. "Yeah, I guess we can kid." You said returning the smile. Dipper came back in the room and Ford shortly followed.

"Dipper invited me along, I know the woods alot so we can all go explore, Stanley can't though, he has to work at the gift shop today, I don't think he would wanna come anyway." He said walking in and standing next to you. You had to look up to see his face, you were only at shoulder height with him.

                       •》Time Skip《•

You were walking next to Ford, the kid twins walking few steps ahead next to each other. You all eventually found a tree stump from a cut down tree still in the ground. "Can we take a small break here? Maybe we can play a game?" Mabel says sitting on the stump, dipper shortly joins next to her. "We have been walking for around 10 minutes straight now." You said looking up to Ford, who would be shoulder to shoulder with you if you weren't so much shorter than him.

"Sure, a break won't hurt, and what kind of game Mabel?" He said walking to the closest tree to the stump and sitting down on the ground, leaning against it. "2 truths and a lie? Truth or dare?" She said trying to list games to get to know each other better. "I'd be fine with 2 truths and a lie." Ford said looking up to you to see if you agree.

"Yeah I'd be fine with that," you said walking a bit closer to the tree Ford was leaning against. "Sit down," Ford said quietly and calmly. You sat next to Ford on the ground. "Can I just watch you guys play?" Dipper says pulling out what you assume is his own journal because it's blue and had a pine tree on the front, like his hat.

A collective 'yeah' came from Ford, you, and Mabel. Then the game began and dipper was writing away. "Y/N, how about you go first?" Mabel says looking to you, "uhh sure. Let's see, I have never had pets before, I know how to roller skate and I moved out when I was 19?" You said with short pauses between each one to think.

Ford speaks up after a moment. " I bet you've had a pet before, like a simple fish at least?" He said with a small chuckle at the end. "Mabel guess and I'll tell you guys." You said nodding your head to Mabel. "Skating is hard, but you can't." She said determined. "Your both wrong. I, 'moved' out when I was 17 not 19." Said confidently. "Alright my turn!" Mabel said and the game went on.

               •》Another Time Skip《•

After a few times of you and Mabel going at the game, you and Mabel turn to Ford and ask him to have a turn, "Alright then, I have sailed a boat before, I know how to roller skate and I was always top of my class." He said pausing and thinking between each fact or lie. Mabel already knew her answer, but you though a moment. "Actually sailing a boat is different from just being on one," you said taking a guess.

"It is different but I have sailed the boat before, Mabel," He said giving Mabel the chance to blurt out the answer. "He can't skate, I don't think you ever tried grunkle Ford." She said confident. "Always? Always top of the class? Color me impressed." You said facing Ford. "Well it's gotten a bit late, if we start our way back now we'll be back in time for dinner." He said looking at you then to the kids.

They both agreed and you guys started the way back, the twins were several more steps ahead, out of hearing range if you spoke quiet. "Thanks for coming on the walk." Ford said silently. Your face grew a bit red. "No problem Stanford." You said quietly as well "I've said you can call me Ford multiple times, I really don't mind." He says turning to you with a gentle smile. "Yeah sorry, just a habit" you said facing him.

You both slowed down because you weren't looking forward. Neither of you broke eye contact or even realized you were making eye contact. Neither of you realized it but Mabel turned around to check on you guys and realized what was going on, she whispered to dipper and ran ahead with him to the shack.

Eventually you guys were stopped staring eachother the eyes. Or at least he was looking at your uncovered eye. Suddenly he grabbed your eyepatch and took it off, and you started blushing even more. "Quit covering what makes you special, it looks amazing." He said staring deeply into your red eye.
