•Part 4 | Mabel's Idea Worked?•

You woke up and got ready for the day. You didn't know what to do today so you just sat halfway out your car with the door open, thinking about how you could stay in town without sleeping in your car everyday. Some brainstorming later and you have no idea except asking to stay with someone, but the person you spoke with the most is a kid, so you can't even ask her.

Some frustrating minutes later Mabel showed up outside and ran over to you "Hi Y/N! Good morning! Did you sleep well?" She said at a rapid pace. "Oh good morning Mabel, yes I slept well, except the fact I slept in a car. How are you doing kid?" You said being pulled out of thought. "I'm great! I have an idea so you can stay in town!" She said happily bouncing in place again. "Oh really kid? Ok let me hear it then." You said deeply interested in what she was about to say.

"I could ask my grunkle Stan and grunkle Ford if you could stay in a spare bedroom we have!" She said, and you swear you could see stars in her eyes. "Woah ok, question one, what's a grunkle? Question two, are you sure they would be ok with it? Question three, why do you trust me I've known you for what? Two days?" You said shocked by the idea. "Answer one: it's short for great-uncle. Question two: That's why I said ask, if they say no then I'm sure we can figure something out. Question three: you're nicer than Gideon and that's amazing in my book!" She said answers all questions quite perfectly so you just noded.

"Well ok.? I suppose you could ask them, thanks kid. Why don't you go do that. I'll be here thinking anyway. I'm out of things to do." You said expecting the answer from the 'great-uncles' or grunkles to be a 'no'. "Ok! I'll go ask right now! Then you can meet waddles! My pig!" She said running off and waving goodbye.

A pig, you thought that must be one of the best pets to have. You waited for her to come back with an answer, still thinking about how you could stay in town, you really didn't expect a good answer from Mabel, you might even get yelled at by an angry adult. A few minutes later Mabel came back. And this time the stars in her eyes didn't stop for a single second.

"They said they want to at least speak with you but would be fine with it!" She said hopping in place squeaking with joy. "Really? Wow I'm gonna be honest, did not expect a 'yes' kiddo." So said still baffled by the good answer. "Never say never Y/N! C'mon follow me!" She said trying to guide you on. "Hold on kid let me lock my car." You said standing up and locking the door of your car, in the refection of the glass you adjust your eye patch, you didn't want it falling off mid-converstation.

"Y/N? If you don't mind me asking, why do you have an eye patch?" Mabel said halfway down the walk to the shack. "Oh, it's a birth defect, not damaged don't worry kid. I just don't like showing it." As soon as you said 'birth defect' her eyes lit up "You are soo gonna get along with Grunkle Ford! He has a birth defect with gave him six fingers! On each hand!" You knew you saw something back at the diner.

You got to the mystery shack, which you still chuckled to yourself about it being 'mystery hack'. Mabel ran inside, presumably to get the 'grunkles'. Dipper came out a second later. ",There's no way she actually convinced you to come. I would've thought it would've been a prank or something. But it's true they said they would allow it, don't worry." Dipper said shocked you showed up. A moment later Mabel came out with a man in a suit, he immediately noticed you from yesterday.

"Hey, didn't Mabel get your wallet back to you?" He said in a gruff voice. "Yeah she did." You felt so awkward right now but kept your voice cool. "I won't mind you staying for a bit but my brother is definitely going to be skeptical about it, I'm sure I can convince him though." He said drifting off in speech. "Thanks, you have no idea how much this helps." "Alright let me go talk to my brother, in the meantime go get your stuff, let Mabel show you to your room." He said walking back into the shack.

Mabel looked so excited, you can't even describe how happy she looked. "Go get your things! I'll make sure the spare room is tidy!" She said spinning around and running into the shack. Dipper looked over to you and gave a thumbs up "His name is Stanley by the way, just call him Stan." You thank dipper and walk back to your car to drive it over, you only had four bags so you thought it shouldn't be to much of a problem.

You got there and parked your car, the other man was outside though, the one in the turtle neck. His brother shortly came outside with Mabel "Y/N! Hi!" She said waving over to you. "Hey Mable." You felt grateful that the older two were speaking to each other and not focusing on you yet. Mabel strolled over to you calmly. "Grunkle Ford said he'd be fine as long as you didn't get in the way, he's like that with all new people please don't feel offended." "That's fine Mabel, I honestly expected a worse reaction from the both of them." You said kneeling don't a tad to her.

Eventually Mabel dragged you over, closer to the shack, and the man I the trench coat glanced at you for a moment. He eventually seemed to agree to his brother and walk back inside. "Huh I expected him to want to talk to you, just to know you a bit." Mabel said in slight confusion. "Yeah same here Mabel but show Y/N to her room please." Stan said walking inside and around a corner. "Well c'mon Y/N! The room is so cool!" She said pulling you inside and up some stairs.

You felt so awkward in the house but Mabel made it easier with how freindly she was. She showed you the room and it looked very nice and tidy. She helped you move your bags in and you just stayed in your room, unpacking small things, it still felt very awkward and sudden with all of this. But you're sure you'll get used to it.
