•Part 11 | Bonding Then Basement•

You woke up at a reasonable 8:30 in the morning, and shortly after putting on an eyepatch and getting dressed, you heard footsteps coming to the door. By your judgment, it wasn't Dipper or Mabel, too big to be them. But before you could guess which one of the older twins it was, you heard a knock, and he spoke. "Y/N? Are you awake?" It was Ford.

You walked over to the door and opened it with a smile. "Yeah, I just got up and ready for the day actually, do you need something?" You said, looking up at him. "Well, I was wondering if you would like to join me and Dipper in playing D, D, & more D today." He said, pulling a dice out of his pocket and spinning it in his fingers. "Oh, I'd love to! Also, neat trick." You said pointing to his hand. "Thank you. I taught myself. Dipper and I are setting the game up currently, and I come downstairs whenever you are ready."

And with that, he left to go back downstairs. You grabbed your dice sets just in case, put them in your pocket, and went downstairs. Dipper and Ford were laughing at each other when you walked in. "What's so funny?" You said as you sat down next to Ford. "Oh, just a joke, now let's get started." He said, pulling out the dice once more, and the game began.

You guys played for what felt like hours before Dipper said, "Y/N, do you still have those dice?" Ford looked over to you as soon as Dipper finished his sentence. "Oh, yeah, I brought them down as well," you said, pulling the small cloth bag out of your pocket, opening it, and letting the dice roll out. "I would have collected more but never had the time to do so, with my constant moving and all."

"Well, now that you have settled in, you can start collecting," Ford said, picking up one of the dice and twirling it in his fingers. "Yeah, or even make a set," Dipper said. "I guess you're right," you said as you picked up your dice and put them back in the little cloth bag you had for them.

You three played for another 2 hours before Dipper got tried, so he left. The game couldn't go on without him because he was the dungeon master that session, so you helped Ford clean up the setup. "You didn't need to help, you know?" Ford said when the task was done. "But I wanted to, so I did." You said with a smug look as you walk back to your room.

•》Time Skip《•

You were reading an old book on your bed when you heard small steps coming to your room and then a knock on the door, "Yes? Who is it?" You said, setting the book down and standing up to walk to the door. "It's Mabel! Can I come in??"
She said in an excited tone as you opened the door.

"Uhm yeah, kiddo, what's up?" You said as you rubbed her head. "Well, I just realized we never told you about the basement, and grunkle Ford said it was ok, so, follow me!" She said, then ran off, you short to follow. "Wait a basement? How did I never see the door to it?" You said as you caught up to her. "Well, the door isn't a door-" she said as you both walked up to the vending machine. "What? You hungry, Mabel?" You said confused.

"Nope!" She said as she typed a code on the vending machine, and it suddenly popped open like a door. "Woah! How did you - who made this?" You said, pushing it open to look at it. "Grunkle Ford! You can ask him, but I have to feed waddles. Grunkle Ford is down there, so just ask him about it all. He knows more than I do, bye!" She said and walked off.

At a slow pace, you made your way down the old stairs, almost everyone creaking when you stepped on them. "Who's there?" You heard a bit in the distance. It was Ford, and it was pretty loud. "Uhh- it's me, Ford. Mabel said you were ok showing me this -" as you got down the steps fully and into what seemed like a lab. "Well, if I had known she would have brought you down today, I would have cleaned a few things." He said with a small chuckle.

"Oh! Well, it's not too bad, better than my car in the middle of summer." You said jokingly. You just noticed he was at a desk not facing you yet. You were too busy looking around the old room. "Sorry- are you working on something? I can come back in a minute -" Then you were cut off.

"It's no problem," he said, spinning around from the chair he was in and then standing up. "I was just finishing a sentence." He started to walk over to you at a firm pace. "Well, do you want a small tour?" He said as he stopped a few steps away from you, putting both arms behind his back. "Oh, sure." You said now having to look up at him.

He gave a tour and a short definition of certain things, answering your short questions as you went along. "Mabel said that you made the vending machine door, right?" You said, turning to him. "Yes, to keep the place hidden." "Hidden from who?" You thought it was just a cool thing to show friends. "Well- let's just say some things in here weren't exactly legal." He said with another small chuckle.

"Huh. Alright then." You said with a shrug. Suddenly you both heard small, swift steps coming down to the basement. "Mabel? Dipper? Which of you is it?" Ford said walking over to the steps. "It's me grunkle Ford!" You heard Mabel say as she rounded the corner. "Oh hi Y/N, I didn't know you'd still be down here." She said a bit surprised. "Really? It doesn't feel like it's been too long," you said trying to look for a clock, despite there being none.

"It's only been like an hour, and a half," Mabel said. It only felt like 20 minutes, so that threw you off a bit. "Well, I'll just head back upstairs then, thanks for showing me the place." You said as you waved goodbye, and went up the stairs.

Ford POV:

I completely forgot to give Y/N back her dice after I accidentally took it, but that's a matter for another moment. "So Mabel, what do you need?" I said looking down at her. "Well it was over an hour so when Y/N didn't come upstairs I got confused, so I was just checking in." She said with a shrug. "Well, there isn't a clock down here so, I suppose there was no real way of telling," I said looking around the room.

"Well, I'm going back upstairs. This place is kinda dark," Mabel said as she ran back upstairs.

Back To You:

You sat back down on your bed and continued reading the book. It was getting around mid-day, so you might head out for lunch soon.
