(Rocket POV)
I woke up still exhausted from a restless night, as I rolled onto my back, only to let out a sound that was a mixture of a 'whoosh', snort and a 'whoo', cause my beautiful daughter was floating above my face grinning at me
"Phoenix" I groan "It's too early" I push her face away from me as she laughed, spinning in the air
"It's time to get up Mama" She grinned as she flew around the room doing loopty-loops
I looked to my left to find I was alone in bed "Where's Mummy and MooMoo?"
"Making breakfast" Phoenix grinned, than flew to me again "Come on Mama, we gotta have breakfast before we go to the park"
When she was in reach, I quickly snatched her from the air and laid her on the bed than tickled her "I don't wanna" I chuckled, and my baby laughed hysterically
When her face had turned bright red, I quickly stopped as she breathed heavily "But you promised" She pouted
I looked at her with my head tilted and my eyes wide "When did I promise that?"
"You said if I went nighty-night, I could go to the park today" She pouted more "You promised"
Fuck! I did promise that last night, but in my defence, it was 2am and I was exhausted. Phoenix wouldn't stop flying around and only Icould catch her
I laid my head on her chest, so I could hear her heartbeat, I've been doing it a lot lately, just to be sure "I guess" I sighed "A promise is a promise" When I heard her steady thumps, I blew raspberries on her belly
"Mama!" She squealed, trying to push me away. I finally relented and I laid beside her staring at the ceiling "Thank you Mama" She whispered
"For what baby?"
"For saving me"
I looked at her unsure why she would say that "You're my daughter baby, of course I was gonna save ya"
"No" She huffed, trying to find the right words "Not just cause ya gave me superpowers, but cause ya gave me a family. I'd never had that before, and you gave me a big one" Her eyes glossed over and I quickly pulled her into my arms "I love you"
"I love ya to baby" I whispered softly as I cradled her head to my chest "More than I could ever show"
"Do you....do ya think I could help you with the bad guys now?"
