I ran down the stairs to the front door, eyeing the scattered shoes on the floor.

"Mom?" I called, looking at the messy assortment of footwear. "Where are my sandals?"

"Which ones?" My mom asked, walking around the corner out of the kitchen. She raised a brow at me as she dried the plate in her hand with a dish towel. "Where are you going?"

"Lindsay's out front, we're going to say bye to Harry." I replied, looking back down at the shoes. "Where are they?" I asked frantically. I didn't want to waste anymore time. The more time I wasted, the less time I had with Harry.

"Have you checked the closet, Mace?" My mom asked calmly. I looked over to her and let out a audible sigh as I darted past her, walking briskly to the closet around the corner. "When do I get to meet Harry?" I heard her ask as my eyes looked at the assortment of shoes.

"What?" I asked as I bent down and picked up my gold sandals.

"Well, it would be nice to meet a boy my daughter actually talks to!"

I smiled and rolled my eyes as I made my way back to the front door. "You just want to meet him because he's a celebrity."

"That's not true!" My mom exclaimed, throwing up her hands in the air for emphasis and almost dropping the plate in her hand. When she caught it, her stern look changed into a smile. "I'd like to meet the boy my daughter likes."

"Who said I liked him?" I asked as I slipped my foot into my sandal and fumbled with the stubborn strap that wouldn't pull around my heel.

"Well you've been spending a lot of time with him these past couple of days."

I looked up at my mom once I got my first foot into the sandal. "That's because he was only here for a few days."

"When will he be back?"

"He doesn't know," I sighed as I pulled the other shoe on, hearing a honk from outside. "I have to go. I'll be home later!" I called a little out of breath as I clumsily stumbled out the door and swung it closed behind me in a hast.

I jogged to Lindsay's car, seeing her wave me over frantically.

"Sorry." I breathed as I opened the door and got into the car.

"It's fine." Lindsay said from the drivers seat. "Let's go!" She said, taking off as soon as my door was closed.

I fumbled with my seat belt, a little worrisome at her speed. "Take it easy, Linds." I said cautiously.

"We have to get there quickly! You might not have a lot of time with Harry if we take our time."

I smiled at the blonde. "You seem more frantic about it than me."

Lindsay looked over to me and huffed. "Whatever." She said, looking back to the road. "Are you gonna miss him?"

I looked down at my phone and shrugged. "Well, yeah. But things will just go back to the way they were."

Lindsay nodded. "You were just beginning to warm up around him, too."

"I know." I said, looking up to the road.

"Even the boys saw it."

I looked over at Lindsay and raised a brow. "What do you mean?"

Lindsay slowed the car to a stop, checked both ways at the intersection, then drove on.

"While you and Harry went for your little walk and left me alone with the other guys, they kind of grilled me about you."

"Saying what?"
