I awoke bright and early the next morning. A horrible habit that I picked up from my late master, but I guess it's helpful. I start dressing in my huntress uniform. Starting with my purple long sleeve body suit, silver tunic and armored shoulder brace. Plus a corset and thigh high boots. The best thing about the boots is that the toe pops out a knife when I click the back of the heel. That's right, I'm pretty cool.

And my weapons. Oh man, I'm almost as obsessed as Ruby. I designed them after Henry's twin blades. Taking inspiration from Raven. When I insert my blades back into the sheath, I can use dust for elemental attacks. I have those throwing knives that come back to me with a click of a button. And last but not least, my creed gauntlets. Based on a popular game, I've got a hidden blade on my dominant right and a small grappling hook on the left. You know, per landing strategy.

Henry never used dust or a gun, preserving the old ways he said. He got teased constantly for not using either. But that's what made him dangerous. Most huntresses and huntsmen are reliant on dust and their guns, but what happens when that runs out. An easy weakness for Grimm and others to easily exploit.

A knock on my door signaled me of Mr. Wizard of Oz stopping by, just after I finished getting ready.

He walked me through my patrol patterns throughout the school.
My schedule consisted of walking the entire parameter bright and early, condensing to smaller areas throughout the day, then back to the entire parameter at night. Easy peasy.

Oz specifically said that I would be doing some odd missions from time to time as an extra set of hands. Nothing too hard. What is nice is that I had plenty of time to kill due to the entrance exam.

Strolling around the campus, I caught a glimpse of Beacon's students. There were a few that stood out in bright colors and others who blended into the background. How interesting, there are characters out there who are just as flamboyant as the main ones. Yet, they never appear in the story.

I decided on a little snack when I found the campus cafeteria. Taking a long look at the menu board. There were a few items that seemed questionable, but most I recognized. Settling on a croissant with a little bit of jam on the side. I continue on my small stroll.

My eye catches some members of team CFVY (coffee). Coco, still rocking her sunglasses, had Velvet by her side. Coco caught me staring at them and decided to walk over.

"Hey, you new around here?"

I stiffened. Oops, she got me. Quickly swallowing the mouthful of the pastry. "Eheh, yeah." I smiled.

Velvet peaked out from behind her friend. "Oh! Are you a new student? I thought they were all taking the entrance exams?"

"Oh, I'm not a student. I'm actually......" I trailed off for a moment, not sure how to explain my title. "Head of security at Beacon. I'm just starting today."

Coco slid her glasses down to take a good look at the new head of security. Her eyes trailed to my blades. "Hm, duel wielding."

I tilt my head curious. "Is there a problem?" Duel wielding isn't that uncommon, so why the statement?

Velvet perked up to answer my question. "Oh! No, she doesn't mean it like that. It's just that your type of weapon isn't common among huntsmen and huntresses."

I blinked in surprise. "How so?"

"Those specific swords aren't popular among the huntsman community. They have to be specially handcrafted, and there is no room for dust or transformations within the weapon itself. It's basically an antique." She shrugs.

Ahhhh, I see. Typical Henry, incorporating his old man ways onto me. Before I could say anything about my swords. Velvet became nervous, thinking she offended me.
