Flashback 2 weeks ago Haven:
The house was a flurry of quiet movement as the group packed for their journey north. Weiss sat next to the coffee table packing up a case filled with various Dust canisters, while Ruby double-checked her weapon's fold mechanism. Jaune and Ren were rolling up blankets, preparing to travel light.
Qrow's voice broke through the stillness. "We're taking the Relic to Atlas."
All heads turned.
"To Atlas?" Yang asked, blinking in surprise.
"That's what Oz said." Qrow leaned against the back of the couch, arms crossed.
All eyes instinctively shifted to Weiss. She looked up from her case with an expression of disbelief. "You have got to be joking."
Nora stretched her arms and legs with a groan. "On the bright side? We finally get out of this house."
"I'm not exactly thrilled about it either," Qrow muttered. "But without the Spring Maiden to seal the Relic back in the vault, this is the best option we've got."
Weiss crossed her arms. "Atlas may be the safest kingdom left, but the borders are closed. General Ironwood pulled everyone back."
"Not everyone," Qrow countered. "Argus is north of here. Major trade port between Anima and Solitas. It's got the largest Atlas military base outside the kingdom. No way they left it empty. If we play this right, we might be able to get an escort straight to Ironwood."
Blake gave Weiss a small nod. "We do have the missing heiress of the Schnee Dust Company."
Weiss sighed. "Ex-heiress actually."
"True true," Nora said, rubbing her hands together like she could already smell reward money. "but if there's a chance for reward money I'd say we go for it."
Weiss rolled her eyes, but there was a faint smile behind it.
"Hopefully the first option will suffice," Ozpin said, entering the room quietly. He looked more composed than he had in days. Tired still, but present.
"Glad to see you're feeling better." Qrow commented from his seat.
Ozpin gave a slight nod and sat in the chair closest to the window. "Likewise. I know we could all use more time to recover... but unfortunately, time is not on our side."
Blake glanced toward the table, where Ozpin placed the ornate Lamp of Knowledge. "Right. As long as that thing's out in the open, it's a target."
Jaune took a step forward. "Speaking of... what exactly does it do? Qrow never really told us."
"Of course, the Relic of Knowledge," Ozpin began, "has a wonderful and incredibly dangerous ability. Its user can ask any question—and the lamp will provide an answer."
Ren's eyes grew. "Intriguing!"
"That's... incredible." Blake commented.
"Indeed," Ozpin agreed. However it's not without its drawbacks, the lamp can not tell you of events that have yet to happen and it will only ever answer three questions every 100 years."
"Well... I guess that's fair," Yang muttered. "Still a lot of pressure though."
Nora jumped from her seat and got closer to the lamp in excitement. "Let's put it to a vote! What should we ask first! OH! Should we ask for more questions? Can we ask for more questions!"
Ren puts a hand to his face, embarrassed by her behavior. "They're not wishes."
Ozpin chuckled. "I'm afraid that you won't be able to ask it anything at the moment. The questions were used before I sealed it away."
