"Rock, Paper, Scissors, SHOOT-!"

"Ah FUCK-!" Barrow continued to shout profanities in his mind, wondering as to how Cale managed to win 10 in a row.

"That's it! UP TO 20!"

"We're not doing 20" Cale retorted with a blank face.

Both parties (Cale and Barrow) had different choices for the next step. Barrow's choice was to continue outside, train On, and collect resources. Cale however?

'Get to the fucking station already. '

They have been arguing for the past 5 minutes. Both knew they would get no where with Barrow's stubbornness and Cale's persistence. The tie breaker was then placed on On, who proposed to do rock, paper, Scissors.

Now back to the situation at hand..

Cale hoisted On up as they prepared to go to the station, with Barrow lying face flat on a piece of large concrete-bawling his eyes out since he lost to Cale 10 times in a row.

"Quit it already and let's get going."

"Fuck you-" the words were muttered with annoyance, but Cale heard the underlying fondness underneath.

All three of them headed to the direction of the station. Everyone did their roles; Barrow slicing the incoming monsters; On providing a sanctuary for them to freely breath; and Cale giving intellectual (and emotional) help.

As they treaded the road, a comfortable silence was bestowed upon them. No monsters in sight, just peaceful walking. Despite the pleasant atmosphere, Cale was still worried.

'Barrow still clings to old tricks...'

Cale knew what Barrow's intention was, even if he didn't mean it intentionally.

'he wanted us to keep on moving, until On is at her peak.'

The said child was already not feeling well, beads of sweat plastered across her face accompanied with mild pants.

'Guess it is hard to teach an old lion a new trick.'

Don't get Cale wrong, Barrow definitely has changed. His lack of emotions were one of the key factors as to why he did what he did. So getting those emotions back was a game-changer for Barrow.

However, the things he did. The path Barrow chose, nothing can change that. The hazardous 1000–year path he chose to walk on, is still there.

All Barrow's sins, all his wrong doings–will cling to him until he repents. The small thorns on the road may not be visible right now, but the ghostly pain is.

It's hard to change old habits, Much less the 1000–year old ones. Barrow wanted to become a god, something that was worshipped.

The end justifies the means.

Barrow would to anything it takes to become one. His vision was blinded by greed, he was obsessed.

He would do absolutely anything-

"-gsaeng? Earth to Cale!"

Cale's eyes came to focus as Barrow waved his hand in front of him. He looked at Barrow to see a worried expression on his face. One of the things Cale found out when they came to this world was that Barrow is an open book when he wasn't acting.

'ah right'

Barrow continued to looking at him with concern. Both of his hands at the shoulders of his dongsaeng, trying to ground him in reality. "Are you okay? You look quite out of it..."

The young master could hear it. He could hear the tone he used—a tone of true worry and fear.

At the comment, On turned her head to look at her guardian. "Did you.. accidently intake some poison..?" asked worriedly by the white kitten.

Cale seemed to worry for nothing.

"Ah no, I was just thinking.. And it's inhale On, not intake."

"Hah- since you have the energy to 'correct' her, then you're fine." Barrow sighed exasperatedly and continued to walk down the path.

"What? Ya ain't coming?"

If one were to squint, they would see the young master form a small smile. Cale caught up with Barrow and they proceeded to walk to the station, the air still as peaceful as ever.

...

"Dongsaeng, isn't inhale and intake practically the same?"

In another part of the city, a man was running with a woman behind his back. The woman might di from poison so he hurriedly went to exit 3 of Geumho station.

'Shit..!'

Just to both their luck though, the exit was closed off. Kim Dokja cursed in his mind while thinking about which ecit he will go to next. If he were to take his time, the lady would die.

"Four.."

Dokja was surprised when he heard the woman whisper. She was in a really bad condition and it amazed Dokja that she was able to speak at all.

"Exit four..."

After hearing what she said, Kim Dokja took off to Geumho exit 4. It was kinda far from exit 3 but he could get there in a few minutes. He sprinted towards the exit and luckily, it was opened.

Well, they were closing it though..

"One, Two..."

Rattle, Rattle, Rattle, CLANK!

"W-what the fuck!?"

Dokja sighed internally, glad that he had made it in time. "Open up"

"N-no! You can't come in here! Get lost!"

"I have an injured woman with me."

"The place is already overcrowded! There's no room for more people!"

'huh?' "That's none of my concern."

Dokja was confused, 'That's weird. It's overcrowded? Did that even happen in TWSA?'. He decided to not ponder any longer, seeing as the woman might die if he didn't give her the monkey's lungs.

He proceeded to bite on the lung again, grab the spike, and lift the shuttles up. Everyone shouted and ran futher inside the station. "Tsk tsk"

[You have entered Safe Zone!]

After placing both the woman and groceries down, he gave the monkey's lungs to the lady. "Hold this in your mouth, you won't fully recover but it'll at least neutralize the poison." instructed Dokja as he placed it in her mouth.

'Was there a character like her in TWSA? Chances are she died early in the novel.'

No matter how many times Kim Dokja thought it over, she just never appeared in that cursed novel.

'Shoukd I take a look..?'

"Over there! That's him!"

[Error - Skill canceled.]

The man turned to the people who interrupted him only to be slightly blinded by the sudden flash. He saw numerous people waking up to him while holding a variety of weapons.

"Who the heck are you?"
