Chapter 29: Building The Bond

Ga-On, concerned for the repercussions of Yo-Han's bold actions, asked him a crucial question, "Will you be alright, challenging the government like this?"

Yo-Han's response was resolute as he delved into his reasoning, "They came to power through hypocrisy. The SRF seized their opportunity after the pandemic when people were desperate for help. Instead of genuinely aiding, they used their wealth primarily for self advertisement and political gains. The Dream Village, it seems, is a means to isolate the undesirables from society, paving the way for the SRF to redevelop the city."

Ga-On couldn't help but be flummoxed by Yo-Han's seemingly casual and carefree attitude, especially when he referred to all the risks and danger as "fun." To Ga-On, it appeared irresponsible, and he couldn't help but voice his concern.

"Yo-Han, do you even think about Elijah's safety in all of this?" Ga-On inquired, genuinely worried about their well-being.

With a calm demeanor, Yo-Han stared intensely into Ga-On's innocent and worried eyes, his feelings laid bare in that moment, "Constantly and I also worry about you, every time, each minute, each second." 

Ga-On gazed at Yo-Han with a mix of worry and confusion," I have made my choice. I will assist you but I won't dishonor my parents or Soo-hyun by resorting to breaking the law or using shady tactics. Judges are most powerful when abiding by the law."

Yo-Han lifted Ga-On's chin gently, leaning in to plant a soft, reassuring kiss on his lips. With a tender smile, he whispered, "Do as you wish."

The day ended and Yo-Han and Ga-On were ready to get back to the mansion where they were welcomed by an angry Elijah ready to fight with Yo-Han still mad about the tracker incident.

Elijah clutched the tracker in her hand, her eyes blazing with fury. "You had no right to track me! Who I meet and where I go is my decision, not yours!"

But Yo-Han stood his ground, his expression unwavering. "I did it because I care about your safety, Elijah. You can't just trust anyone who shows you kindness. There are dangers out there you can't even begin to imagine."

Their voices escalated, and it seemed like there was no end in sight to their dispute. Elijah's tears fell, a mixture of anger, frustration, and hurt.

"Yo-Han, that's enough," Ga-On said firmly, stepping between the two. "Is it her fault she feels lonely? She's searching for something, for someone who cares, just like we all are."
