Have you ever had the impression that despite doing your best to treat others well, you don't receive the same in return? You may be plagued by that feeling for weeks, but it's then that you learn that few people there are people that genuinely care. People come and go, take things from you as they please. There's nothing much they say and leave without a trace of them in your lives.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I carry with me a box of five hearts, hearts made up of love and of course, chocolate.

Pass by you not having a good day

So I give you a heart,

It brightens your day

You smile and go on your way

Now I have one less heart.

As time passes by, another heart,

Another day, another heart,

Your on your way, another heart,

"Are you okay?", another heart.

And just like that, zero hearts remain.

But yes, there's one left

So, maybe worth the pain?

Time passes by and I stumble upon you not having a good day again,

So desperate in need of a heart

So, I give you one, but this time, I give you mine.

This time, I give you a heart full of apologies,

A heart full of remorse,

A heart full of the love I always deserved but never received

And most importantly, a heart that shall not change course.

Another day passes by, and there you are

Desperate in need of an apology,

Desperate in need of sympathy,

Desperate in need of a heart.

But oh, I'm sorry, I have no hearts left to give

Because you ate the chocolates and my life, so maybe that's how you deserve to live.

Now it's fine even if one day you act like I'm all yours,

And the other day you pretend like you don't even know me

But if I've ever done that to you

I just want to say I'm sorry

I gave away 5 hearts, and I'm ready to give a hundred more,

But are you ready to accept them with the same love they were given to you?

Because you can't accept an apology you don't deserve,

A heart you can't preserve,

And I'm sorry I thought you did

But now I have no hearts left to give.

We only have one heart that shall not be given to the heartless people out there because,

Trust me, they will grab every chance they get to take that heart away from you just so they can live and you can die.

I wish you were here today to accept the love I've shown

Because apologies, love, hearts and respect is pretty much all I've ever known

So here I am, grieving over all the hearts I've given, all the mistakes I've made

And one final sorry, I know for sure, is all it's going to take.
