*2003, auditions day*

"I tought Derek was supposed to be super hot” Ellen said confused

"yeah” Shonda sighed

"well neither of these canditates is”

"I think the favoured one is Isaiah Washington for now ”

"my boyfriend is black, I don't want my role to be too close to my real life” Ellen complained

actually Isaiah didn't look like Chris at all but he made her feel unconfortable for some reason

"okay, we still have the last one... fingers crossed for him” Shonda sighs

a few seconds after, Shonda's assistant opened the door and Ellen sees the most beautiful man she had ever seen, not even in her dreams a man could be that perfect

his curly dark brown hair, his irish blue eyes, his muscular body, his smile, his dimples... everything about him was perfect

"hi, I'm Patrick Dempsey, I am here for the role of Derek Sheperd” he says smiling at her

"I- I'm Ellen Pompeo and I'm, I think I am supposed to-to play your love interest, I am Meredith Grey... and she- she's Shonda Rhymes, our writer” Ellen stuttered, she always stuttered when she was nervous and she absolutely hated it

"well nice to meet you Ellen” he giggled

"nice to meet you too” she smiles

as soon as he heard her accent his eyes widened

"I'm sorry... do you guys... know each other? because the way you are staring at each other is making me feel unconfortable” Shonda interrupts them

"I- we... no" Patrick blushed "it's just... where are you from? cause your accent”

"I am from Boston”

"well, I am from Maine, this explains it all”

Ellen couldn't help but smirk and blush

"okay, auditions starting from now” Shonda brings them back to reality

Ellen and Patrick both nodded and started repeating their lines. Shonda was amazed, she had never seen two actors having that much chemistry

"Dr. Sheperd, we should pretend it never happened” Ellen repeated her line

"what never happened? you sleeping with me last night or you throwing me out this morning, cause both are memories I would like to hold on” he couldn't help but chuckle

"no, there will be no memories”
.....
"stop looking at me like that"

"like what?”

"like you have seen me naked”

Patrick smirked amused by those lines

"Dr. Sheperd, this is inappropriate"

"okay... stop, it's enough for me" Shonda nodded

she was really happy with his auditions but she wasn't gonna tell him

"you did a good job” Ellen sweetly says

"thank you, you too. It was nice meeting you darling” he gave her his mcdreamy smile

"nice meeting you too” she smiled back shaking his hand

"I hope I'll get to work with you, you are very pretty” he wispered in her ear

Ellen slightly blushed as Patrick walked away and left the room

Shonda burst into a laugh

"still complaining about your choices?” Shonda smirked at her

"no"

"didn't think so”

"are we okay then? is he your choice?"

"wait, I- I get to choose?”

"you only have the final say, I liked the chemistry between you two. He is very charming and flirty, he looks at you with that evil smirk and it makes you blush, it's exactly what I want”

"I don't blush”

"but you did, you were so cute” Shonda chuckled

"I am not cute and I don't blush"

"sure” Shonda laughs

Ellen rolled her eyes and took Shonda's paper

"so? does he have the job or not"

"yeah he has the job” Ellen wispered

"wow... so unespected" Shonda teased her

Ellen rolled her eyes and took the papers Shonda was writing on to read it

"mcscream? what?” Ellen giggled

"I mean... in a nasty way" Shonda smirked

"oh" Ellen gasped "that's so not professional of you Shonda” she laughed

"don't tell me you didn't think it too... plus it won't be me who would have to call him that but you, ehm- Meredith I mean”

"Meredith wouldn't call him that, who would call a one night stand like that?” Ellen giggled "she would call him mcfuckme because she wants to do it again” she joked

Shonda grinned

"what?"

"mcscreammcfuckme, I love it” she said sattisfied

"I was joking” Ellen laughed

"don't worry, I won't tell him you invented the second part” Shonda winked

Ellen slapped her on the arm and they both burst into a laugh

PATRICK'S POV

Patrick was riding back home, he had no idea how the auditions had gone

the writer, Shonda, kept staring at him and that terrified him, he was pretty sure that it wasn't a good sign but Ellen, the sexy blonde actress was smiling the whole time and she had told him that he did a good job

she was very pretty, not to say hot with her greenish blue eyes, her golden blonde hair, her big bright smile, her contagious laugh and her Boston accent made her even sexy

*oh God, just stop, you have a wife, you can't think about another woman like that* he snapped at himself

Once he arrived home he found his two years old daughter running toward him

"dwaddy”

"heyy, princess" he picked her up and gently kissed her cheek

"you gwot the jwob?"

"I don't know honey, I just have to wait and see if they call me back but I think I did great, daddy did great" he tickled her making her laugh

"hey, how did it go?" Jillian asked him when he entered the door

"I think I did great. I didn't forget my lines, which is a very good thing and I didn't stutter”

"that's good, I am proud” she smiles hiving him a kiss

Patrick had failed many auditions that same year, due to his dislexia he kept forgetting his lines so he never got picked for new roles but this times he hadn't

he really hoped he got it. He was this close to giving up acting, he had been acting since he was a teen and now he really needed a sign that it was still the right thing for him. He also needed a stable job, in order to give Talula everything she needed and more

he NEEDED that job and he was also looking forward acting with the hot blondie at the auditions. For the first time since Talula was born he found himself wishing he was single, cause he would have already asked her out if he was

"dwaddy can you pway with me" Talula interrupted his toughts

"sure"

he decided to push the toughts of Ellen away for now, he was married and she probably had a boyfrien, girls like her are never single
