MAYBE IT'S NOT TOO LATE

PATRICK'S POV

It's a normal and quiet Saturday at the Dempsey house

Patrick is in his office doing some work calls, Darby and Sullivan are playing in the garden and Jillian is at her beauty saloon (not that he is complaining about it, Jillian can be overwhelming amd sometimes he just needs a break from her) and Talula isn't home because she is studying at college in Washington

some days they just missed her so much that the house feels empty without her... even if it's four of them and the twins are pretty noisy

Patrick's manager is trying to explain him that he organized some partnerships for the following months but he is not really paying attention, his mind just can't focus

Patrick just ended filmimg his new serie and he now he is in pause for a few weeks

"gooaalll" Darby shouts from the garden

"hey, that's unfair" he hears Sullivan complaining right after

"it's not my fault if I'm too strong Sully" Darby replies back

Patrick chuckles at that son who reminds him a little too much of his younger self

he tries to focus back on his work call but his manager recieves a call and tell him to wait for his message in which he will explain better

waiting for his manager to text him the last informations he decides to check his socials for a few minutes when he notices that many fans tagged him under a post

curious as a monkey and completely clueless of what that is about he decides to click on the post

his heart skips a bit when Ellen's name pops out on his screen written on a black big glittered star

the caption says that Ellen is going to recieve the star in exactly three days, he already knew that was going to happen, he just didn't know when it would be

Patrick involunarily glances at his agenda and sees that he has nothing planned for that day

a wide grid spreads on his face

*it would be cute if I surprised her out of nothing* he thinks

his heart starts beating faster and he can feel butterflies in his belly just thinking about it

*this is a bad idea, this is a terrible idea, what am I thinking? she didn't even invite me*

it's not like he would expect her to invite him, he knows she would never do that but it kinda hurts him that she hasn't told him about it

that's the kind of news he would want to hear from her and not find out from an instagram post

Patrick is so lost in his toughts that he doesn't even hear Jillian coming back home from the front door

"what are you looking at honey? you seem lost in your toughts" she enters in his office without knocking

he looks at Jillian for a few seconds and decided not to lie this time

"you know the... walk of fame event?"

"yes" Jillian sits down on the armchair in his office

"Ellen is getting a star in three days" he finally spits out waiting for her rection

"so?" she frowns

"I think I should go"

He stares at her waiting for a scream of something but she doesn't react that wait so he decides to go on

"I am not saying this to hurt you, I don't want to fight with you but Ellen and I shared the most relevant part of our careers and I really care about her. I want to be there and support her as her old costar"

Jillian looks down for a few seconds, which really was a progres for them... she wasn't screaming, she was actually thinking about it

"did she invite you?"

Patrick shakes his head

he knows that the only reason Ellen wouldn't invite him are Jillian and Chris, he is positive that she would be happy to see him

"I am coming with you" she grins

"what?" Patrick frowns

"I wouldn't have to worry if I am there too, it's been a long time since you brought me to a big event... also I have never been to a walk of fame event so I am kinda looking forward to it" she smiles

Pattick is completely shocked by her reaction, that's the last thing he had expected

on one side he feels frustrated, going with Jillian is not the same as going alone but...
on the other side he knows that Chris would be there anyway so it wouldn't change that much

maybe it's not a bad idea after all

He knows Jillian wouldn't embarass herself in front of many people so he has nothing to be scared about

he doesn't know how Ellen would react but... they were just friends now right? what happened between them was years ago

Ellen seems over him, even if he knows he isn't completely over her and never will be, so bringing Jillian shouldn't be a big deal right?

Okay this was the first chapter of my first story ever, I hope you guys like it, now

How will Ellen react to Patrick bringing Jillian at HER event? will she get jalous? 😏 will she do something?
