Ghost was grasping my hands in his when he buried his head in my belly. There was something different in the way he felt like there wasn't the rough material of his mask in the way. My breathing got faster, mirroring my heartbeat. Was that the reason he told me to close my eyes? Because he would be taking the mask off? I wasn't going to open my eyes to find out, I could not betray Ghost like that, so I pushed away the thoughts altogether.

Ghost let my hands go and wrapped his around my waist, squeezing me to him. "Touch me," he breathed.

I went to touch the back of his head like I always did, but pulled away when instead of touching the mask all I touched was hair. I bit my lip because all I wanted right now was to scream at the top of my lungs. Ghost was indeed not wearing a mask, standing right in front of me, and now he wanted me to touch him there. He told you he is falling in love with you, Valentina, what did you expect? To live a life with a man who wears a mask all the time? I didn't know, honestly. I hoped he would show me himself one day, but I never thought that that one day could possibly be today.

I sucked in a breath through my nose and tried again. I placed my right hand on the back of his head, burying the tips of my finger into his hair. It was so soft and short there, that short where I could still pull it in a grip. Ghost moved, resting his chin on my stomach and apparently looking up at me. I took the chance to bring my left hand to his forehead and just ran my fingers through his hair from the front to the back. A shiver went through my body, and it instantly became my favorite thing. That was when I couldn't stop touching him.

I messed with his hair, touched the shape of his ears and the bridge of his nose. I touched every part of him that I hadn't known yet, and it was as if I was meeting him for the first time with my fingertips. I laughed and he laughed with me at my desperation to touch him everywhere. But it was over too soon. Ghost pulled away from me and with him, all of his warmth went missing. There wasn't any movement so I wasn't sure what to expect next. I sure as hell never expected him to say the next.

I shook my head, thinking that my ears were betraying me because there was no way Ghost wanted me to do that. "Ghost..."

"Open your eyes, love."

Oh God. Oh no. Oh yes. Oh shit. Oh everything.

This was it, we were crossing the line and never coming back. Ghost had finally fought his demons and won, and now he was welcoming me in and showing me his real self. I couldn't believe it. It all felt like a dream, but when I bit my lip really hard, pain shot through my body. My lip trembled between my teeth while my heart was ready to die because... God, this is it, I am about to meet Simon.

I slowly opened my eyes, and... I just couldn't believe it. Ghost, oh, Ghost had thrown away his mask and he was achingly beautiful on his knees before me. My eyes landed on his blond hair, the one that was now messy because of my intrusion. It was short on the sides but long on top, that long where it reached his dark blond eyebrows, like now that a few strands were laying on his forehead. I moved and slightly touched his high cheekbones. My touch was a whisper as I trailed my fingertips down the bridge of his crooked nose, a perfectly crooked nose that fit him right.

I touched his scars, the ones that showed me stories that we had yet to approach. One on his right eyebrow and the one that stopped mid-cheek. I laughed a little when I noticed his mouth smeared with my red lipstick. I was so happy, so overwhelmed, that tears threatened to fall. Ghost was incredibly beautiful, the sight of him was too much to bear, hitting me right in the center of my chest. My whole body was shaking when I dropped to my knees in front of him to get a closer look.
