One week later
New York, NY

The city of Manhattan and the view of the Brooklyn Bridge glistened, a wine glass in my hand was empty as I finished the glass before.

I was perched at the top of midtown in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, rooms here were atleast $1,000 a night, but I didn't have to worry about that. There was a knock on the door of the conjoining room with mine, and I went to answer the door.

Standing behind the door, because I was only in my towel I opened it and Oakley stood on the other side.

"Yes?" I say.

He stood there shirtless, a pair of shorts and his slides, a Manila folder in his hand. "We need to talk." His gruff voice responded.

"Ok." I let him in and he takes a seat on one of the two love seats in the room, and I sat opposite him. I didn't bother to clean up the bottle and a half of wine I had downed. Being back here made me nervous, scared even.

I was back here earlier than expected because of the night out Ameena and I had. Cench definitely made me feel like shit about it the next day. He goes into this long story about how he can't trust me, and his business isn't my business but he can't afford to 'babysit' me. I think he was looking for a way to get rid of me, which I'm a big girl I didn't need him to take care of me.

My phone buzzed under my thigh, because my legs were crossed I quickly checked the message.

Meena: one attachment imagine.
My soulmate forever. Dweebs can't keep us apart.

The photo was a plane ticket leaving London the following month, to New York City. I began smiling, I wouldn't have to be alone for so long. I sent her a ton of hearts and kissy faces, because no amount of words could express how grateful I was for her.

People like Ameena don't come along often, and I was going to hold onto our friendship for as long as we both loved each other.

Pulling me from my thoughts, Oakley cleared his throat and I looked at him. He slid the Manila envelope in front of me across the table, and sat back with either arm stretched out on the back of the chairs. His legs spread open as he waited for me to take a look in the folder.

And I didn't bother to read the rest, I closed the folder and pushed it back towards him. "No thank you." Muttering I pour myself another glass of wine, holding my towel closely to my body. If he was going to leave me here, I didn't need anymore ties to the U.K. outside of Ameena of course.

"It's a simple proposal." There's a devious smirk that starts to appear on his face, and I have to look away.

Oakley was temptation in a male body.
