Lia's POV:

"Can I ask you a question?" Mum asked randomly.

"Yeah, sure," I said nonchalantly, paying more attention to my phone.

"Why didn't you tell me that you wanted to visit Alison's grave?" She said hesitantly. I stopped typing and stared ahead of me, totally shocked by what Mum has just asked me. 'I'm never telling Dad anything again,' I thought to myself. My blood started boiling, and my defense mode immediately kicked in.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I said through gritted teeth, refocusing my attention onto my phone.

"Li, I'm only asking because I'm confused as to why you would think I would be upset if you visited her grave and that you needed my permission to go," Mum said, briefly looking at me.

I just clenched my jaw and shook my head slightly. "Once again, I don't know what you're talking about," I said a bit more irritated.

"Lia, please just answer my question—"

"Mum, I don't want to visit her grave, okay!" I said, raising my voice and immediately regretting it. I could tell Mum was a bit taken aback. We never yell at each other, and quite frankly, I want it to stay that way. She was just getting on my nerves.

"I'm sorry, that came out wrong, just... please drop it," I said while rubbing my temples.

"Okay, fine, but we're going to have this conversation later," she said sternly. I just deeply sighed and sunk into my seat. I covered my head with the hood of my hoodie and allowed sleep to overtake me. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I could feel Mum grab my hand gently. A smile slowly made its way onto my face as I felt comforted by my mother's touch. Finally, I fell asleep.

30 minutes later...

"Bubs," I heard Mum gently whisper as she combed her fingers through my hair. "Mmm," I groaned as I squinted my eyes open.

"We're here, Baby," she said as she got out of the car. I got out of the car and grabbed all the things that I needed like my phone, water, and etc.

As we were walking towards the entrance of the studio, Mum interlocked her arm with mine. I looked up at her briefly and smiled at her.

"You're going to do great, Li," she said as she quickly kissed my forehead. "Thanks, Blue," I said with a wide smile.

We entered the studio, and we were warmly welcomed by the entire crew. They led us to our dressing room and told us that Uncle James was only coming in an hour's time because it doesn't take that long for him to get ready for the show.

As I sat down in the make-up chair, I decided to start prepping myself mentally. I took deep breaths and went over the questions that James was going to ask me.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I looked up into the mirror to see Mum looking straight at me. "Do you want me to ask you the questions?" She said sweetly.

"That'll be great, thanks, Mum," I smiled, handing her the cue cards. She shuffled the cards before she picked one. She clears her throat and straightens her posture. She then asks, "What is your album about."

I freeze for a second. I really hoped that she was not going to ask that question, but I guess I'm going to have to answer it on live television anyway so...

"Bubs, you really don't have to answer this question. You can just take a bite of the food that's gonna be on the table," Mum said, trying her best not to trigger anything.

"No, it's fine, Mum," I said with a smile. I took a deep breath and answered, "This album is very dear to my heart, mostly because it is so incredibly personal and emotional. It's about my trauma that I have experienced during my teen years, me working through the trauma, and then eventually ending up on the brighter side." I finished.

"Perfectly answered. Short and sweet," Mum smiled proudly. "Okay, next question... If you had to rank the next three artists from best to worst, how would you rank them: 1. Billie Eilish. 2. Ariana Grande. 3. Adele," Mum said, but she smiled as she read her own name.

"Well, that's a difficult one. I would probably say Billie best, Ariana second, and Adele worst," I said with a cheeky smile. Mum's jaw dropped in shock.

"Lia!" She scolded me as she playfully slapped my shoulder with the cue cards. "I'm obviously kidding, Mum. You're number one, of course," I said while giggling.

"No, you said what you said," she said seriously, looking at the next question. "Mum, I was kidding," I said while grabbing her arm and giving her the pouty lip.

"I know," she laughed.

"Oi, don't mess up her make-up," the make-up artist scolded us. "Sorry," the both of us said, trying our best to contain our laughter.

"Okay, final question," Mum said, quickly glancing up at me and then again at the cue cards.

"Are the rumors true that you are Adele's secret daughter?" Mum asked. I then dramatically acted like I took a huge bite out of the food that would be on the table and rubbed my belly. We both just cackled.

"You're such a drama queen," Mum said. "I learned it from the best," I said cheekily. Mum just rolled her eyes at me dramatically.

"I think you're ready," Mum said as she handed me the cue cards back and grabbed my hand.

Just as I finished going through make-up and getting dressed into a beautiful chic dress, James came into the dressing room.

"Almost show time," He sang excitedly.

"Can't wait," I sang back sarcastically.

"I'm going to give you the worst dish on the table," James said while greeting me with a hug.

"Bring it on Uncle Cordon. Bring. It. On," I said with a smirk.
