Lia's POV:

And that's exactly what we did; we got pissed. We moved all the furniture to the side of the living room, and we danced, sang, and laughed until our bodies couldn't take it anymore. We were both so drunk that we clung onto each other for balance. You could tell Mum was really out of it because we did one of those challenges where you do a surprise karaoke song, and I played "To Be Loved," and she started singing "A Song for You" by Donny Hathaway. It was crazy funny.

When it struck midnight, both of us were almost completely sober. We decided to make a bed right there in the middle of the living room, so we gathered all the pillows and blankets we could find and created a comfy bed, well, at least we tried. When we finished building our bed, I laid down and pulled Mum along with me.

"Hey!" She shouted, scrunching her eyebrows up in irritation. I burst out in laughter, and she started cackling with me. "Come here," she said before pulling me into her arms and kissing my forehead gently. I closed my eyes, trying to soak up all the love that was present.

"What do you think the boys are busy doing now?" She asked. I looked up at her and said, "Probably getting drunk too."

Her eyes widened at my bluntness and quickly turned into a scowling face. "I would murder your father," she said nonchalantly.

"No, you won't," I quickly added. "No, I won't, you're right," and I giggled at her response.

"But he won't get a single kiss from me for a whole week," she said while raising her nose up in the air, trying to convince herself.

"Yes, he will," I replied with a smirk. "You're right, he will," she said with a pout, and we both started cackling.

"Damn it, I just love him too much," she said, throwing her hands up in defeat. "I know, that's why I know you're talking sh*t."

"Yeah, I guess," she said, letting out a sigh. "When do you want to start working on the album?" She asked while facing me.

"Well, I'd like to start as soon as possible, but now with the paparazzi following us, it's going to be difficult to keep the process lowkey," I said with irritation evident in my voice.

"Bubs, don't worry about them; we'll be able to make the album without them knowing. I've been doing it for years," she said while smoothing my hair down.

"Yeah, I guess so," I said with a sigh. "Guess so? I know so," she replied with a smile.

"Goodnight Mum, I love you," I said while turning on my side.

"I love you too Bubs, now, forever and always," she said with a gentle voice, kissing the side of my head. She turned the other way around and cuddled up in the blanket.

Adele's POV:

I could hear Lia taking slow and deep breaths next to me, meaning that she was already in a deep sleep. I, for one, could not sleep. I pick my phone up from the floor and look at the time, 00:38. I take a deep breath in and let it out through my nose. I turn around once again and try my best to fall asleep.

After about 10 minutes, I saw something bright outside. 'Maybe I imagined it,' I thought to myself. I lie back down and close my eyes again.

About 2 minutes later, I hear the window creaking open. My heart starts racing, and I quickly go to the corner of the living room where a baseball bat was. I picked it up and slowly walked on my tiptoes, trying to be as quiet as possible. I held my breath, trying not to make a sound. As I approached the window, I heard clicking noises.

"You must be f*cking kidding me."

Suddenly, anger and rage flowed through my veins, and I completely lost it. I started stomping my feet as I walked towards the window, and just as I reached it, my face was met with a camera flash.

"Get the f*ck off the property!" I yelled loudly. I saw Lia in the corner of my eye jumping up, probably by the anger and loudness of my voice.

I saw the man running off the property as fast as he could, almost tripping over his own feet. I went to the front door and opened it wide. "If you come back again, I swear you're going to regret ever taking a picture with my f*cking face on it!" I yelled.

I slammed the door shut and let out a groan.

"I can't f*cking believe this sh*t," I said, running my hands through my hair.

"Mum, it's okay, calm down," Lia said while approaching me, trying her best to make me calm.

"Why the f*ck do they think it's okay to basically break into our house at midnight to get pictures! They've never done that before. Who do they think we are? The Kardashians? Which still doesn't make the situation right even if we were. Why are they so comfortable doing it now?" I vented in frustration. "Maybe I need to sue them again to remind them who I am," I said, pacing back and forth.

"You can do that Mum, but right now you need to calm down and get some sleep. You can't do anything about it at this very moment. So just drink a glass of water and get back to sleep," Lia said while rubbing her hand up and down my arm.

"I can't sleep right now Lia, I don't feel safe," I said, still pacing back and forth while chewing on my nails.

"I'm calling your father; he must be awake by now." I quickly went to bed and grabbed my phone. I dialed Simon's number as quickly as possible. It started ringing, so I patiently waited for him to answer.

"Hey baby," he greeted with his incredibly deep voice which instantly made me smile and feel safe. "Aren't you supposed to be sleeping? Why are you still awake?" He asked in confusion, and my smile immediately dropped. I took a deep breath in and told him what happened.

"They... what!" He yelled through the phone with a monstrous voice.
