Adele's POV:

I've been tossing and turning the entire night. The thought of Rich being free has made me so paranoid that I've locked every single thing in the house that I possibly can.

"Baby, stop moving," Simon groaned with his eyes closed as he put his arm around my waist.

"Sorry," I giggled softly, running my fingers through his hair and kissing his forehead. His response was just another groan, but in the dark, I could see a small smirk forming on his lips.

"It's almost 7, babe. We need to get up," I whispered to him, lightly scratching his arm. He always loves it when I scratch his arms, back, or head. It's like his weakness. Well, I'm his weakness.

"It's Saturday," he moaned as he stretched out the word.

"Exactly. A day full of surprises," I said with a huge smile.

"Just one more hour," he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into him.

"Simon," I laughed, "Angelo and Lia are probably up already." Just as I said that, I quickly corrected myself. "Angelo is probably up already."

"And? He's old enough to decide what he wants to do at 7 in the morning. Just go back to sleep."

I just giggled at his reaction and moved closer to him.

"You're my weakness, Konecki," I said as I closed my eyes.

"I know." He said somewhat proudly.

Lia's POV:

I've been tossing and turning all night.

I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I think the feeling that I have about this dinner tonight is... excitement? I hardly know this guy, but he's making me feel things that I've never felt before.

I feel like I'm going to make a huge fool out of myself tonight. I've never had a boyfriend before. I've never even had my first kiss. Quite embarrassing at the age of 20, but I've just never had the opportunity to.

I guess that's why I'm feeling so excited about tonight. It might lead to new things that I'm going to experience in my life. I'm just scared that I'm gonna look like an idiot.

As I finally decided to get out of bed, I heard noises coming from the kitchen.

"Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Dad asked as he handed me some coffee.

"Actually, no," I yawned and then giggled afterward. "I've been tossing and turning all night."

"Any reason why?" Mum asked as she made breakfast for everyone.

"Well... I have a date tonight," I smiled sheepishly.

There was a short moment of silence, suspense engulfing the room.

"What? With who?" Dad asked, but I couldn't figure out if he was excited or being protective in his tone.

"Um, you remember the guy we saw at the mall, Mum?" She still hasn't spoken a word, but she just nodded her head slowly.

"It's him who asked me out," I smiled widely.

"Well, I'm happy for you, Li. But you know I'll break his neck if he hurts my baby girl's heart, right?"

"I figured," I said as I went up to him and gave him a hug.

As I took a sip of my coffee, Mum suddenly decided to speak up.

"You can't go," she said almost in a whisper.

I was a little taken back by what she said, and I almost choked on my coffee. "Sorry, what?" I asked, almost laughing.

"You can't go," she said more confidently.

"And why's that?" I asked, thinking that she's just joking with me.

"Because I said so," she said with her back turned to me, and she continues scrambling the eggs.

"Okay," I said while laughing. "Then I'm just not gonna go," I said sarcastically while taking another sip of my coffee.

"I'm glad you understand," she said as she turned around and gave me a tight-lipped smile.

"See, now I'm getting worried because I don't think you're actually joking," I said while nervously laughing.

"I'm not joking," she said seriously, while crossing her arms over her chest.

"Mum, I've already agreed on going," I paused and thought for a moment. "Sort of agreed, but it's way too late to tell him now I can't go."

"Well too bad, you're not going. And that's final."

"You can't tell me what to do. I'm an adult," I whined like a child.

"You really wanna use that card on me?" She raised her eyebrows. "Simon, please help me out here."

"Wow, why do I have to get involved?" He threw his hands up in surrender.

"Because you're the other parent to our child."

"Well, I don't understand why she can't go," Dad said confused.

Mum put her hands on her hips and raised her eyebrows at him and gave him a look that was hard for me to read.

Almost as if a lightbulb goes on in Dad's head, he turns to me and says, "Yeah sorry, you can't go."

"What the hell is going on? You guys have been acting weird since yesterday."

Just as they were about to answer, I cut them off again. "You know what. I don't even want to know. All that I know is that I am going on that date tonight and you guys can't stop me."

"Lia. We are your parents and we are telling you that you are not going on this date tonight," Mum said sternly while her patience was wearing thin.

"Give me one good reason why I can't go out tonight. Seriously. If you give me a good and valid reason why I can't go, then I'll stay home."

Mum and dad just look at each other, mentally debating on what that reason was going to be. After them not answering for a while, I just say with confidence, "Exactly."

I stood up from my chair and walked to my room, making sure to slam my door hard so that Mum and Dad will hear it.

Adele's POV:

"Great. What are we going to do now?" I asked annoyed.

"Well, we can't force her not to go. She has her own car."

"We could just slash her tires," I said eagerly.

"Laurie," Simon said in a warning tone.

"Alright, fine," I said, feeling defeated.

"Why don't you just ask your bodyguards to follow Lia? Then we'll know she's safe," Simon suggested.

"Simon, I don't want her not to be near me. I actually don't want her out of my sight." I knew that if anything happened to her again, it would destroy me, and the guilt would eat me up alive.

"Laurie, she'll be safe if you have them follow her. I entrust them with you, even though I hate knowing that I'm not the one protecting you 24/7. So just let our little girl enjoy her night. This is gonna be her first date ever. Don't take that excitement away from her. She's had a rough few weeks, including you. Just relax and allow her to go."

"But-"

"No buts, I want you to go to her room and help her decide what she's going to wear tonight. You both need to unwind from all the stress that has built up these past few weeks."

After debating with myself whether or not to go forth with this idea, I finally let out a groan and say, "Why the hell are you always right?" I pouted while crossing my arms over my chest.

"Because I'm the wife in this relationship," he said as he engulfed me in his arms. I instantly start cackling and press my head against his chest.

"Yeah, and I'm the man," I said with an exaggerated deep voice. Which caused Simon's beautiful laugh to echo through the kitchen.

"Ugh, I love you so much," he said as he kissed my forehead and rested his chin on the top of my head.

Yeah. Definitely my weakness.
