A playroom, a theatre, a gym, and a library can be found on the second floor. Finally, there is a rooftop swimming pool. The mansion is completely surrounded by greenery, and the backyard is densely packed with large green trees.

I am on the second floor and headed straight for the library. I opened the door and was awestruck. The sunlight filtered through the velvet curtains, lightly dimming the room.

The walls are lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves containing leather-bound classics and some rare first editions. The room was illuminated by a massive chandelier in the centre.

There are four round coffee tables in the room, which are surrounded by comfortable-looking couches. I moved around the room, touching some books as I went in search of a book.

I found my favourite one, 'Pride and Prejudice'. I have read it several times, and each time I fall in love with it more and more.

I settled on a couch in the far corner near the window and started reading. I was feeling drowsy, and my eyelids were getting heavy after nearly finishing the book. I fell asleep with Mr. Darcy on my mind and covered my face with the book. I can't get his confession out of my head.

"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love... I love... I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."

I was startled awake by the loud, boisterous sound that echoed throughout the room. Standing up, I rubbed my eyes and turned to face the entrance.

When my gaze was drawn to the person standing near the door, Mr. Darcy vanished from my mind.

Rudra stood there, his chest rapidly rising and falling with each breath, his eyes darting around the library before settling on me. He looked at me for a few moments before walking towards me with slow, steady steps.

I had just finished the board meeting and was about to leave. Rahul barged in, huffing and looking at me with wide eyes.

"Chandini, she—she is not in the mansion," I exclaimed, puffing a breath.

My heart had just dropped to my stomach, and I was frozen in place, unable to move or think.

Oh my god, she left me? No, she can't leave me; I won't let her get away from me!

I walked out of the meeting room and towards the parking lot, taking quick and long strides. I got into my car and sped away, gripping the steering wheel tightly, my knuckles turning white.

My heart was racing, and my chest tightened at the thought of her leaving and never seeing her again.

This can't be happening; how could she leave the mansion with twenty men guarding it? How come no one informed me of it?

When I picked up my phone, I saw calls from Muktha, but they were silent due to the meeting.

I called Muktha, but she did not answer, and neither did Mom or Papa. No one is answering my phone.
