You left your window to walk to your room. Spiderman or not, you still had some homework to do. You started flipping through your books and pulling from your backpack in search of any assignments.
'Oh wait! That's right, I finished those papers on my lunch break yesterday. I'm free!' you violently shoved the stuff back into your bag.
'Welp... it's a Friday night. I sure as hell don't really feel like getting ready and going out. I'll probably just mold myself into the couch and watch a series or read some fan fiction. Spiderman is on my recommended constantly now, maybe I should read one...' you contemplated as you walked back into your living room.
You went back to the window one more time looking past the curtain. Still nothing. You shrugged.
"Guess he had better things to do than give me a show today." you said closing your window.
*snort*
You froze.
Did you just hear a snort? A snort that definitely didn't come from you. A snort that another human would make. A snort from inside your own house... right. above.
You shuddered, slowly raising your head till your gaze hit the ceiling. You looked directly above you, seeing the infamous red and blue suit with wide rounded white eyes.
Spiderman was on your ceiling.
"This is probably the worst way I could've done this." he said with both his hands and feet latched into the roof like an insect as he stared back at you.
"AHHHHHHHH-!"
You threw your phone across the room and screamed, bolting to the front door of your apartment. Before you could reach for the knob, the Spider landed on his feet in front of you with his hands up.
"WOAH WOAH HEY! I'M SORRY I PROMISE I WASN'T CREEPING ON YOU!" he pleaded.
Your flight response immediately subsided. Now your fight kicked in.
You grabbed his shoulders pinning him to your door. You slid your forearm across his neck to keep him in place as you glared at his mask's wide eyes.
"W-woah." he whispered.
"THE HELL ARE YOU SNEAKIN' AROUND MY HOUSE FOR?" your street-accent slipping out as you yelled.
"I-I'm sorry! I wasn't sneaking I promise! Look! I brought you some food a-and just wanted to talk." he said completely submitting.
He acted like he couldn't just throw you across the room and kill you if he wanted to. You've seen him stop a moving train before, so you really have no reason to be getting in his face like this.
You removed your hands from him and backed away calming down. Realization hitting you all at once as you processed Spiderman being in your apartment and saying something related to food.
"You... said what about food?" you asked hesitantly.
His shoulders relaxed as he perked up with the mention of your food. "Oh!" he sounded before shooting a web past you to spring a box of takeout back into his hand.
You looked at him confused.
"Uh, well I came here to say that uhh... I know you watch me. On the rooftop." he said quietly.
Your eyes widened as blush rushed to your face. You were ready to give a huge explanation and apologize for invading his rooftop privacy, but he continued.
"Before you say anything! I didn't mind it... in fact I actually really liked your presence from across the street.
I could sense every time you smiled or laughed at my weird monologuing." he chuckled looking away.
"But, you never actually said anything. You just left me alone... I really appreciate that." he said looking back to you.
"S-so I thought I'd ask you to join me! You're always alone in this apartment, and maybe you're in search for a new friend?" he extended the takeout box out to you.
"Is Spiderman asking me to be his friend and eat takeout with him?" you asked as you stared at him in disbelief.
"If you're willing to be friends... with Spiderman." he said hesitant.
You stared a little longer as he started to retract into himself seeing you silent. You shook your head of all the randomness and illogical things scrambling your brain all at once and just accepting the situation with a laugh.
"Sure, nice to meet you Spiderman. I'm y/n." you smiled.
From that day on, your friend Spiderman came to visit you almost every sunset. Bringing takeout on Fridays, watching YouTube and shows, playing card and video games, and joking till day would break. You'd become so close, so complimenting of each other without judgment.
You knew he was a hero. A hero the entire world loved and needed. But he'd now become the hero in your little world too, one you didn't know you needed.
