Chapter sixteen

A few months passed and Megan still didn't leave my side and she made even more efforts to fix us. But the case is I didn't pay attention to what she did.

I came home drunk and there was food on the table upon entering inside. There are also small candles on the floor  and a pieces of rose petals as if Megan really prepared it for me.

The set-up was very romantic but I didn't like what she did so I looked at her who was right behind me.

"What is this Megan?"

I said without interest.

Even though Megan's heart was tightening when she felt that I didn't like what she did, she still smiled at me.

"Happy wedding anniversary Greg."

I frowned.

"What?"

I chuckled when she greeted me. Megan probably thought that our life as a married couple was still happy.

"Clean up all that mess!"

Megan was surprised when I shouted.

"G-Greg didn't you like it?"

I smirked.

"What do you think Megan? just throw it all away because I won't eat it."

After I said that, I went straight up the stairs and left her. I went to our bedroom.

I changed my clothes and then I went to bed.

It was a few hours before Megan followed me upstairs.

I saw tears in her eyes.

"What, have you finished cleaning up your mess?"

She slowly nodded and lay down next to me.

The two of us are quietly resting on the same bed.

She was on bed side and I just shook my head and took out my cellphone  when it's ringing.

Nathalie is calling.

"Oh hey Nath?"

I answered on the other line.

I felt Megan move next to me.

So she hasn't slept yet.

"Yes, I got home safe."

Because Nathalie asked me if I was okay.

"Don't worry Nath, I'm fine."

I smiled.

After the call ended, I looked at Megan who was now facing me.

Her eyes were closed and I was suddenly stunned.

I can't deny that she sleeps well and her face is so beautiful.

I used to call her my angel but now everything is different because of what she did and breaking my trust in her.

I shook my head and adjusted my posture.

I will go to sleep and forget that tonight is our wedding anniversary.

We were both happy now if she didn't cheat on me. If only she had listened to me! but everything will not change! because she broke my trust in her.

She left me and go with another man. She just let me get hurt while she was enjoying her man!

Later on, I also fell asleep.

I don't know if I was just dreaming because a soft arm hugged me tightly and because I was sleepy I just ignored it.
