5 Years Later

Sunoo POV

Its been five years, five years ever since movement that drifted all my friends always from me. I am only left with Sunghoon now. He is the only one who trusts me. Namra is also a little convinced because of him but still she has her doubts.

Well I am now a CEO at my fathers company since my father retired. Our parents are still friends and they don't know about us. They just think we are too busy to talk to each other nor did they ever know that we once dated and we still meet up once a while but Aera's never there because she gone to Singapore for her further studies.

Today is again such a reunion. I walk into the reserved room our parents booked for meeting like usual. As we wait i suddenly hear heels ticking from a distance. the voice seems to come closer ,till the door opens and Aera is standing there. Our eyes meet just for a spilt second. I'm surprised to see Aera among them. I haven't seen or spoken to her in years.

She looked just as beautiful as I remembered, with her long black hair and piercing honey brown eyes

"Oh Aera you are here! Come sit my dear." my mom said

 My father spoke up.

"Aera, now that you're back from Singapore, I have a proposition for you," he said.

Aera looked at him warily. "What kind of proposition?" she asked.

"I was thinking that you could work under Sunoo at the company," Sunoo's father said, smiling.

I could feel Aera's eyes on me, and I knew that this was going to be a disaster. Aera and I working together? It was a recipe for disaster. But before I could protest, Aera spoke up.

"Thank you for the offer, Mr. Kim, but I'm afraid I have to decline," she said firmly.

Sunoo's father looked surprised. "Why? You have the perfect qualifications for the job," he said.

Aera looked at me and then back at Sunoo's father. "I just don't think it's a good fit," she said, her voice steady.

I could see the disappointment in Sunoo's father's eyes, but I also knew that Aera was right. We would never be able to work together, not after all the history between us.

As we finished dinner and said our goodbyes, I couldn't help but feel a little relieved. The tension between Aera and me was still there, but at least we wouldn't have to work together. Maybe someday we could bury the hatchet, but for now, it was better to keep our distance.

Aera POV

As the days went by, I couldn't stop thinking about Sunoo's father's offer to me. Despite all of the tension between Sunoo and I, I knew that it could be a great opportunity for me to gain experience and make connections in the industry. I decided to do some research on the company and the position.

After thinking about it for a while, I decided to reach out to Sunoo to discuss the job offer. We arranged to meet at a coffee shop near our parents' houses, and when I arrived, Sunoo was already there, sitting at a table in the corner. He looked up when he saw me and gave me a small smile.

"Hi Aera, it's good to see you," he said, motioning for me to take a seat.

"Thanks for meeting me, Sunoo. I've been thinking about your father's job offer," I said, getting straight to the point.

Sunoo nodded. "And what have you decided?"

"I think it's a great opportunity for me, and I've decided to accept the job," I said, feeling a sense of relief now that I had made up my mind.

Sunoo looked surprised, but also pleased. "That's great news, Aera. I'm glad you've decided to join us."

I called Namra to tell her all of this.

"HeyNamra, guess what?" Aera saidexcitedly when Namrapicked up.

"I just got a new job!"

"Really?That's amazing!" Namraexclaimed.

"What kind of job is it?"

"Amarketing position at Sunoo'scompany," Aerareplied, trying to sound casual.

"Sunoo's company?" Namrarepeated incredulously.

"Wait, are you telling me you're working with Sunoo?"

Aeracould sense the scepticism in Namra's voice.

"Yes, but it's not a bigdeal," she said quickly.

"We're just colleagues."

"Uh-huh,"Namra saidsceptically.

"Well, just be careful, okay? I don't want you to get hurtagain." I rolled my eyes, but she knew Namra was just looking out for her.

"Iwill," I promised.

Author's POV

Meanwhile, Sunoo was having a similar conversation with Sunghoon.

"Hey man, I just hired a new employee," Sunoo said, trying to sound nonchalant.

"Really? Who did you hire?" Sunghoon asked.

"Aera," Sunoo replied, holding his breath.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before Sunghoon spoke up. "Aera? As in our Aera?" Sunoo nodded, even though Sunghoon couldn't see him.

"Yeah, that's her."

"Woah!" Sunghoon said sympathetically. "That's gotta be tough."

Sunoo sighed. "Yeah, it is. But I'm over her, you know? We're just colleagues now."

"Right," Sunghoon said, though Sunoo could tell he wasn't entirely convinced.

As they hung up, Sunoo couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him and Aera. Only time would tell.
