"No you guys don't know what I'm talking about. Is there any one asking you not to act like you want to? Is there?" Feyintola queries staring into the screen of her phone at the trio of Inioluwa, Jeremy and Hassan.
"I do." Hassan replies as he adjusts his black round neck. He settles down on the bed and places his back on the burglary.
"Not like that Hassan. Like she practically tells me that I don't act like a girl or chicken my age." She continues to complain.
"Sorry ehn." Inioluwa sympthasises with her.
"So she hasn't returned the set yet?" Jeremy asks.
"I have been speaking Spanish since abi? She doesn't even seem like she wants to return it. I stylishly entered her room to look for it, I didn't see it there. I'm serious guys this girlish attitude wahala is on another level o."
"It is well. You too try to act like a girl sometimes." Inioluwa advises.
"See this boy o. She is a boy normally God just decided to give her feminine features." Jeremy jokes.
"Iyen emi naa. I will catch you." She retorts and snaps her fingers before the door opens on its own accord. Her mother comes into the room and looks around for a while before clearing her throat. Feyintola raises up her head to look at her her before she greets.
"Good afternoon ma."
"How are you?" Her mother asks.
  "Fine ma."
"Ehn ehn. What are you doing?"
   "Talking to my friends."
"Cut the call and meet me downstairs. We have a birthday cake to bake and the owner will collect it on Tuesday but I won't have time tomorrow so you should meet me downstairs. I better not call your name before you come downstairs o." She pulls her left ear and struts out of the room.
Feyintola looks at the boys when the door closes and rolls her eyes.
"Go na. We understand." Hassan says.
"Oh please. She does this every time.  She didn't even say let me greet your friends or something."
"We should have greeted her too." Jeremy notes.
"She would have snubbed you guys."
   "Still...." He persists.
"You should go. Don't let her seize your phone o." Inioluwa warns and immediately disconnects the call.
"See this boy o. Tomorrow is for you and I." She mutters and leaves the bed pulling on blue slippers. She moves towards the door and exits the room.

"Why are we using pink?" Feyintola asks her mother as she mixes the ingredients for the cake's icing.
"That's what the owner wants."
"Eww! She's using two cakes and they're pink. Is she like a baby or something?"
"Pink is a feminine color. It should be your favorite color too. But no, you have decided to be abnormal." Mrs Adams complains as she places the cake into the oven and sets a timer.
Intentionally wanting to steer the conversation away from the question, she asks a question.
"What are the themes for the icing?"
"One is a baby and fucial pink five steps layered ombre swirl while the other one is a fucial pink buttercream with a princess Cinderella figurine in pink dress plastic cake topper." Her mother walks around the formica table to clean it up.
  "Really? How old is she?"
"She will be clocking sixteen."
"No wonder. She sure still has a babyish mentality." Feyintola lets out a hiss and shakes her head.
"Babyish mentality or not, she's being a normal teenager unlike my own daughter that doesn't do anything asides watch action and horror movies and play manly games. You're just so different from girls your age. If you didn't have a brother I would have said that's why you're....." She complains before Irewamiri strolls into the kitchen.
"Weldon Mom. Are you baking anything for family consumption?" He asks.
"Ask your sister to do that." She says and goes out of the kitchen. Feyintola stretches the palm of her hand to meet her brother and they smile.
"Next time you should create an excuse for yourself. Or just give a quick apology. You should thank your head that I saved you today." Irewamiri cautions. "Bake something for me na." He says looking around the kitchen.
"I just want to bake something for my classmates. Just to celebrate the new month. Didn't remember it's new month if not for the call I had with the guys." She notes and stops stirring the icing.
"I really want to be free with them at school and relate well but I don't know how." Ire complains.
"Just be yourself. They like you actually."
"Really?" He asks.
"Yes. She confirms nodding her head.
"I will talk to senior Hassan tomorrow. He seems the nicest."
"Jeremy is actually. It's just not noticeable."
   "That one that limps?"
"My own friend?" She gives him a questioning glare and he sends her an apologetic smile in return.
"Just talk to anyone of them. Don't let them think you're rude."
"Fine. Keep a share of the cake for me o." He pleads.
   "I can't guarantee that o."
"Then bake special one for us na. We can eat that." He says and runs out of the kitchen.
