Olivia's POV

What beeping noise is that? It almost sounds like a hospital. Am I dreaming or what?

I opened my eyes slowly and is met with a white room. I looked to my side and saw someone sitting in a chair with their head down looking at a phone. My vision is still a little blurry, but i think that figure can only belong to one person

"Domenico?" He snaped his head in my direction "where am I?" I asked him.

"At base, in the infirmary, you were passed out when I found you two days ago at your apartment" he said ".

My eyes went wide at his revelation "What? Two days? Why? The last I remember, I was at home" I said.
"Your wrist caused you to develop a blood infection because it wasn't treated properly. But that's sorted now and was treated with antibiotics. Your system was just in shock that's why you were out for so long. You should be able to leave when the doctor clears you in a few minutes" he said.

"Thank you" I said not looking in his direction. My eyes fell on my attire, and I saw I had my own pajamas on. Last time I checked I had on a pair of leggings with my NYU top. I frowned at this "Who changed me?" I asked.

He rubs the back of his neck, and I could see a rosy tint on his cheeks. "I had no choice; from the way you looked I had to improvise as you were unconscious. So, I packed your stuff and brought you here, but I did not change you. A female doctor did that if you're wondering if I saw you naked. I also changed the locks on your doors because anyone would be able to pick your locks. I could do it under a minute."

I stared at him with an open mouth, shocked at how nonchalant he was with the fact that he picked my lock. But I'm thankful regardless.

"Thank you for saving me, I really appreciate it. If you didn't break in to gain entry things could have been much worse than one could imagine. How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything" he says.

"And the medical bill? I don't believe in taking things or services for free" I tell him.

He remained silent for a while then says, "you are my girlfriend, right?".

I can't help but to frown at his statement. This was pretend girlfriend, so what is he on about?

He then decides to continue "This is my hospital so no charge and besides we are dating. I also need a date for the charity gala I'm attending in one month's time, and I need my fake girlfriend to accompany me" He said as if we're discussing the weather.

"You can't tell me you don't have anyone else to go with you?" I counter.

"I do, but they are not worthy of being next to me in public" he says while sitting there with a smug look on his face.

"And I am? What's the difference between me and them" I ask him.

"They are tainted, and you are not" he said.

What is that supposed to mean? A woman's worth is not determined by how many men she slept with.

Before I could take him on and respond, someone entered the room.

"Mom, dad, what are you doing here?" he asked as a beautiful woman and the man from the other night who looks identical to Domenico stood in the doorway.

She came to my side and took my hand in hers "Hi dear, my name is Rebecca, and this is my husband Luciano that you met before at our son's restaurant" She gives me a huge smile.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Olivia, but I and not your soon to be daughter in-law" I give her a faint smile.

Domenico's dad also does not smile at all, but he did greet me. One can see he is not a man of many words.
