As Alexander helped Lilly settle into her room at his house, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in his gut. He knew that being a spy meant that danger was always lurking around the corner, but seeing Lilly in a hospital bed with a bullet wound was a stark reminder of just how real that danger was.

"Lilly, are you sure you're okay to be up and about?" Alexander asked, eyeing her warily as she gingerly made her way to the bed.

"I'm fine," she said, waving off his concern. "It's just a flesh wound. I've had worse."

Alexander wasn't so sure. He knew that Lilly was tough, but a gunshot wound was nothing to scoff at. Still, he didn't want to push her too hard. They had a mission to complete, and they couldn't afford any setbacks.

"Okay, well, if you need anything, just let me know," he said, turning to leave the room. "I'm going to go make us some dinner."

As Alexander headed to the kitchen, his mind was racing. He couldn't help but wonder who had shot Lilly and why. They had been careful, so how had someone managed to find them? And what did they want?

He knew that he couldn't let his guard down, even for a second. They were in this together, and he would do whatever it took to keep Lilly safe.

As he started chopping vegetables for their dinner, he couldn't help but steal glances at Lilly's closed bedroom door. He knew that she was a hacker and that she was just as committed to their mission as he was, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong.

Suddenly, his phone rang, jolting him out of his thoughts. He quickly answered, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Hello?" he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Alexander, it's jake" came the voice on the other end of the line. "I need you and Lilly to report in as soon as possible. We have a situation."

Alexander's mind started racing as he hung up the phone. He knew that things were about to get a lot more complicated, but he was ready for whatever came their way.

He turned off the stove and headed back to Lilly's room, steeling himself for whatever lay ahead. As he opened the door, he found Lilly sitting up in bed, staring intently at her computer screen.

"Something's up," she said without looking up. "Our cover's been blown."
