It's been a year. A full year.
365 days since T'Challa died.

When Ada woke up, she was once again, met with an empty bed. She knew Shuri knew what a day it was. She knew Shuri was in her lab and would be all day. In all honesty, Ada was hoping that she could spend the day with Shuri.

Over time, they both started slowly understanding that they were definitely grieving in different ways. Shuri wanted to keep to herself, so Ada let her. Ada needed to get her feelings out, so she tried to talk to someone in Wakanda, but after a few short sessions, she stopped going.

She kept to herself after it all, feeling uncomfortable talking to anyone else. She even felt uncomfortable talking to Shuri about it.

Even though she and Shuri were physically close almost every day, they couldn't have been farther apart.

They both hated it.

Ada got out of bed slowly, sitting on the edge. She looked at the time and saw it was nearing close to eight at night. It was then she remembered she tried to talk to Shuri earlier and she ignored her, so she went back to their room. Their room was beginning to be more like her room.

She stood up, shaking any sense of tiredness off of her body, and headed for the lab.

Once she got there, she was met with multiple other scientists in the lab. She greeted them with a smile, hoping the conversation with her girlfriend would go south.

Ada went up to Shuri's desk, smiling at her. "Hi," she whispered.

"Hi," Shuri bluntly responded, not even looking at her girlfriend.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine, just busy."

"Can I talk to you... about T'Challa?"

"You know, Ada, it's not like T'Challa was your real brother!" Shuri suddenly snapped, looking at the girl for the first time that day. "You didn't have to go through what I went through.

Ada was taken aback. "What do you mean? T'Challa was like a brother to me too. I loved him."

"Oh really?" she sarcastically said. "Did you grow up with him? Did you share his childhood memories? Did you love him like I did?"
