Aiya. Thank goodness she didn't scream. Last thing I want is a bunch of people rushing in. I must seem like a pervert changing in the girls change room.
Freen quickly changed and rushed out of the changing room with her face flushed. She arrived into the gym and saw more familiar faces from her high school days. She knew that the basketball team had a lot of popular boys but they were never friends- more like acquaintances. There was Billy who was the captain, and Heng, Tor, Seng, Isaac, Sky, Saint, Nop, and James. Freen was the last to arrive while all the boys had already gather in the gym and was stretching. Billy glanced at Freen annoyingly as if to blame him for being the last to arrive. He clapped to gain attention and spoke, "Gather around boys. This is a final year and I want this season to be our legacy. We have to win the title and I want to have a head start by training before the basketball season starts. I know we have just gotten back from summer vacation and I'm sure we are all rusty. I don't have high expectations but I want to know where we are as a team, what is your skill set, how is your stamina, and most of all where can we improve. Keep this in your mind and show me what you have in this practice."
Teenage boys are so serious about sports. This is just a small thing in their life, what they should be really concentrating on is their education and finding the right career path.
"Let's do a 5km run as warm up. Follow me"
5km! That isn't a warm up that is a effing marathon in BFF standard! There is no way I can finish 5 km, how the heck did I even make it on the team?
Freen begrudgingly picked up her feet and was the last to follow Bill's lead for 5km warm up around the school block.
Running without a sports bra is amazing! I feel so liberated and free. Although it does feel a bit awkward down... how do boys run with this between their legs. I feel so self conscious with that sausage flailing around, maybe I should wear tighty-whities instead of boxers. Note to self... buy some tighter underwear to keep it compact. P.S.S. need a better name than sausage.
She was quietly observing her fellow teammates and her surroundings as jogged with the team. Deep in her thoughts and observations on the differences in the neighborhood, she hadn't noticed that she was keeping pace with Billy without panting or sweating excessively. Billy stopped and turned around to see the condition of his teammates after the 5km warmup, there were only four teammates that kept pace with him-- Saint, Heng, Isaac, and Freen.
Holy cow, did I just finish 5km? I have never ran so much in one breath and I'm not even panting! Boy Freen rocks!!
Freen's new revelation regarding her stamina was short lived. As the practice continued, Freen realized that although she was extremely athletic with a high level of stamina, she was terrible at dribbling, shooting, defending, and rebounding. She also had zero game sense, poor hand eye coordination, and inability to control her strength, speed, and ability. If she was graded on a scale of 1 to 10 on performance, she would be a -10. She was so bad that everyone was wondering if she was doing it on purpose.
"Freen! Stop joking around! I know you can do better and I have seen you do better. What the heck is wrong with you!" Shouted Billy.
"Who in the right mind would joke about this..." muttered Freen. "Sorry Billy! I...."
"I don't need excuses. Go run 10 laps around the school" Billy cut Freen off.
Freen looked at Billy astonishingly
"NOW!"
Not wanting to defy Billy, Freen complied and headed outside.
Why am I listening to an 18 year old boy. I am not joking around, I really don't know how to play basketball! Should I make an attempt to learn? How hard is basketball anyways. It is just a silly game.
Freen was starting her run around the school when she noticed the amber hair girl from the girl's change room sitting under a tree. She had her head slightly tilted to the sky and was listening to her music with her eyes closed. Not wanting to disturb her, Freen ran past her each time and each time, the girl never opened her eyes. When Freen finished Billy's punishment, she walked back in to an empty gym and Heng.
"Dude! You actually did 10 laps! Idiot! I would have totally slacked off" Heng laughed.
Heng is annoying as a teenager.
"I didn't realize there was a choice" Freen replied. "Are you alright? You totally tanked today at practice."
This is the caring Heng that I know.
"I guess I'm feeling a bit under the weather today"
"Why are you speaking like....a girl. Do you have your period?!" Heng laughed and smacked Freen on the back. "I got to run. Smell you later and stop joking around next practice! Billy was pretty frustrated at you."
And annoying Heng is back....
"Bye. Have a good night." Freen replied but didn't really mean it. She was a sore from all that running and knew she smelled like a beast. All she could focus on was taking a shower and being clean again, but she wanted to make sure that the boys changing room was empty. The last thing she wanted to see were buck naked teenage boys. Not having any experience with what teenage boys do and don't do, she didn't want to take that risk of nudity in the boys changing room, and she certainly didn't want a repeat of her experience in the girl's changing room so she waited a bit before she dared to enter the boys changing room.
Luckily, all the boys had already changed and left without showering. It was close to 7pm when Freen finished her shower and change in to her clean clothes. She felt better to be able to be clean again but she was not looking forward to her 20 minute walk back home. The sky had already darkened when she stepped off the school grounds, and she wondered whether the amber hair girl had left yet.
