Chapter 48:Through Loss Comes Growth

Start from the beginning

Priscilla: (Curious by his words) Why do you say that?

Saiyan King: I Wasn't Exactly Brought Into Existence Through Ordinary Means... And The Moment I First Drew Breath... I Was Condemned And Sentenced To Death For Merely Being Alive... So Much Hate And Rage Stems From My Very Being, Far More Than Any Living Creature Should Have... I Don't Wish The Same Fate And Pain I Experienced To Be Passed Down To My Very Own Flesh And Blood... I Cannot Bear The Thought Of That Image... After Everything I Have Done, I Don't Know How I Can Be A Better Man Not Just For My Future Child, But For Everyone I Care About.

Priscilla: (Places a hand on his shoulder to reaffirm him) Don't waste your time thinking about how to be a better man for your loved ones...Be one... If you don't want your child to repeat the mistakes you have done, then teach them well so they wouldn't be doomed to repeat those same mistakes. Make a life for them that gives them everything they need to succeed in life. Teach them correct values, good morals, necessary skills and most importantly, provide for them the same love and compassion that you were robbed of in your earlier years.

Saiyan King: (Listens very carefully to her every word) I Will Certainly Keep Your Advice In Mind... (Sighs in turn) It Seems I Truly Have So Much More To Learn About Life.

Priscilla: Yes, quite so. We never truly stop learning, no matter how many years pass by in the blink of an eye. You're never too young or old to learn something new.

Saiyan King: So I've Noticed...

Priscilla: (A moment of silence passes by before she speaks) ...Y(N), there is something else I want to tell you... Regarding being a some-what ideal parent. Will you hear me out for a moment before I officially head to bed?

Saiyan King: Go On, I Will Always Eagerly Await Your Words Of Wisdom With An Open Ear.

Priscilla: (She nods in a grateful manner) Thank you for your consideration and patience... (She clears her throat) ...As I mentioned once before, everyone makes mistakes, some more than others. Regardless, no one is perfect no matter how much they strive to be. Children are no exception on this matter. They are always prone to making many mistakes when growing up... However, no matter the mistakes or faults a child makes, a good parent should always be willing to welcome them back with open arms when they seek forgiveness... Love in general should never be earned and no child should have to earn their parents love and admiration... It should be given freely... It hurts me deeply knowing there are kids out there hopelessly trying to prove themselves, thinking that they are not good enough to be called a son or daughter, desperately forcing themselves through great hardships to receive just a small ounce of gratification... And it angers me even more realizing that the reason they feel that way in the first place is because their own parents never recognize them as their own until they somehow prove their worth... I despise those sorts of people with every fraction of my being... No child should ever have to earn their parents love and attention.

Saiyan King: ...Do You Know The Kind Of People I Hate Most? (Priscilla looks at him, awaiting his answer) Those Who Abandon Others For Their Own Sense Of Safety And Morality... To Leave The Ones They Were Meant To Raise And Protect Is A Sin I Will Always Despise With Every Ounce Of My Being For All Time.

Priscilla: I know what you mean... And I don't blame you for feeling that way... You yourself know what it's like to be abandoned and the great pain that follows afterword's... No one deserves to suffer in such an unimaginable way...Not even a monster.

Saiyan King: I Never Considered It Before, But Now... It Is A Fate I Would Never Wish On Anyone...Especially Not A Child.

Priscilla: I know... Though your new found ideals is exactly how I know that you and Lucille will be great and loving parents one day... Your suffering unveiled the truth in more ways than one, it shaped you two to be the people you are today... And it will be the catalyst for you both to provide a wonderful life for your future children... Your shared pain brought you two together and has helped you both grow to be better than the ones who hurt you... You and Lucille, I have faith in you both. So try to have a little faith in yourself for a change.
