Holly's POV

Willow, Sundew and Holly spent the rest of the night on a pile of leaves in Hazel's room.
Willow had offered to take them to another tree house, but no one wanted to explain Sundew and Holly to anyone.
So they decided it would be easier to spend the night in the queen's tree house and deal with everyone else in the morning.

Holly fell asleep amost as soon as she lay down, the day of confusion and stress catching up to her all at once.

She slept well past dawn, as she realized when she awoke to sunlight in her eyes.
She quickly sat up and looked at Hazel, who was perched in her hamock with a book.

As Hazel's room filled with light, Holly saw just how similar it was to her own room.
It was bright and airy, with several open windows and balconies.
Three desks took up nearly half the room, despite being shoved into a corner.
The desks were covered in book-making supplies mad from jungle ingediants; sap glue, tree fiber thread and peices of bark dyed different colors to be used as bookcovers.
Bright red flowers poked through the roof, and there were small paper dragons and clouds hanging from the it.

"Hazel", she said, and the princess finally looked up from her book.
Sundew was already awake, pacing the floor.

"Aren't we late to see the queen?", Holly asked.
Hazel shurged.
"She sent a message saying that she wasn't ready yet, and need more time. She'll let us know when it's time."

Sundew frowned at her.
"And what am I supposed to do until then? Sit around like a flower waiting to get stomped? Dragons will be looking for me! I have things to do!"

"You're doing the most important thing", Willow said sleepily. "You're investigating the mind control plant and you're warning us about the Hivewings. Seems pretty important to me."

"The Hivewings don't know we're here", Sundew pointed out. "They know we're alive, but they don't know where we are."

"And you don't think they'll guess pretty quickly? Hmm, where could these dragons who like trees possibly be? Oh, maybe the only patch of forest left on the continent, which also happens to be the only place we haven't been able to go for the last fifty years, what a coincidence."

"It doesn't matter if they guess right", Sundew finally huffed. "The Poison Jungle will keep them out. Even if they reach the Snarling River today, they couldn't get through to either of our villages. The jungle will eat them alive."

"I hope you're right. Hey, while we're waiting, let's go talk to those Seawings! You want to meet them, right?

A spark of electricity jumped through Holly's body. She'd nearly forgoten  about the strange dragons.

"Yes", Sundew said. "Let's do that now."

"Let's bring them some food",Willow said, sitting up and stretching.

"Hazel, want to come?"

The princess shook her head.
"I'm at a really good part. Great-grandmother doesn't normally leave me alone for this long. I want to take advantage of it while I can."

A rainfall of social anxiety hit Holly from out of nowhere, causing her to change her mind. "Actually, I think I'll stay here too."

"Okay", Willow said, "I get that. See you!"
They raced out of the room, leaving the two alone.

Holly plopped down on the floor.
Why do I always  do that? I want to meet someone, then as soon as the chance comes, I'm like, Nope, can't! Urgh, stupid, stupid, stupid!
She pounded herself with her fists a few times quietly.
I should work on it soon; sitting and complaining about won't do anything to fix the problem.
She glanced at the Leafwing behind her.
Why not start now?

There was a pause for a few seconds, as she decided what she was going to say.
"Hey, Hazel", Holly said finally. "Do you have any books on Phy- the Hidden Kingdoms?"

"Oh yeah, I have lots", Hazel said.
She walked over to the mahogany bookshelf in the left corner of the room.
"Are you looking for something. . . . ", she suddenly trailed off, her eyes falling on Holly's necklace.
"Where did you get that?"

"Oh, this? I got from my aunt", Holly said. "Why?"

Instead of answering, Hazel turned towards the shelf, and pulled out an ancient looking document.
She flipped throught the pages, and stopped right in the middle of the book.

Holly jumped.
She was looking at an old ilustration of her necklace.
"What the fu-"

"This is one of Clearsight's dream diaries", Hazel explained. "She had several over the years. In this dream, a scavenger uses a magic necklace to travel to Pantala to accomplish some mission."

"What's a scavenger?", Holly asked. Then she realized.

"Scavengers are those little primate things that walk on two legs and cover themselves with clothing", Hazel aswered.

"But I thought Clearsight could only see a couple thousand years into the future", Holly said after a moment.

"She had most of those during her waking hours", Hazel said. "This was a dream, maybe nothing more."

Hazel looked at her.
"Holly, where are you from?"

For a long while, Holly didn't say anything.
"Would you think I was crazy", she said slowly, "if I told you that I'm not from this world, that I'm not even a dragon?"

Hazel's jaw dropped.
"I knew it!", she whispered. She did a little dance in a circle, before sitting back on her haunches.
"So. Why are you here? What's your purpose?"

Holly blinked.
"My . . . purpose?"

The questions that had most often popped into her head since her arrival were mostly:
How did I get here?, How do I get back?, and Where do I know Mandrake from? the question Why am I here? had hardly occured to her.

"I think", Holly said slowly after another quiet moment,"that my mission might be to join the war aginst Wasp."

I might be here for a reason.
The only way to get back home, might be to take action.

"So, how did you get here in the first place?", Hazel asked.

"I was reading a book, when all of sudden, there was a bright flash of light coming from my necklace, and I fell backwards. And then I found myself here, as a dragon, with absolutely no idea where I was or how to get back."

Hazel thought for a moment.
"What book were you reading?"

"I'm not sure. All I remember is that it was one of my favorites", Holly said. " Don't know why I can't remember. . . "

"What's the name of your world?"

"Earth."

"And does Sundew know about this?"

Holly winced.
"No. Nearly everyone acts like I've always been here for some reason."

"What's-"
Hazel was interupted by a loud noise, coming from the forest floor.

"What was that?"

"We should go find Sundew", Holly said.

Hazel nodded and the left, going in the same direction that Sundew and Willow and gone nearly half an hour ealier.

They found Sundew and Willow talking with the tall, blue Seawing.
"Oh, hey, guys", Willow said. "This is Tsunami. Tsunami, this is Holly and you've already met Hazel."

Tsunami looked even more familiar to Holly, now that she saw her in the daylight.
She was about to say something, when they heard loud roaring coming from below the tree house.

"What is that?", Tsunami asked.

Sundew gave a long sigh.

"My mother is here."
