Do you ever just put "said" after every line of dialogue? Same.
I feel like most editors or publishers would absolutely hate that (readers as well). Also, I think it doesn't show much description for when a character says something with emotion. So, I came up with some ideas on tone in writing to help!
POSITIVE: Caring, calmly, Upbeat, Serious, Frank, Honest, Teasingly, Matter of fact, playfully, and cheery.
NEGATIVE: Bossy, Hateful, Sullen, Bitter, anxious, dry, edgy, whiny, and wavering.
MORE: Deep, comforting, bright, rich, romantic, sexy, soothing, melodic, lovely, and dramatic, musical.
Of course, I didn't list a whole bunch because then the post would be way to long. However, if you ever need to you can always google some more words!
Thanks so much for reading!
