Chapter 28 | Return Of The Speed Devil

The rest of the day went smoothly. Ajay and I hung around for a little bit before we parted to go off to our apartments once it got dark. However, I haven't seen Tavi once we left the dropship. He didn't even make the slightest of eye contact with not just me but everyone on that dropship the whole journey back here. As much as Ajay's told me not to worry, I can't help but think about him. There's something up with him, and I'm starting to think that it's got nothing to do with me at this point...

Once I got into my apartment, I couldn't help but plop myself onto my sofa, grunting in the process. The moment my body relaxed I actually realised how much my muscles ached after today, along with some cramps and pains every now in then. I sighed, looking up at my ceiling.

I wonder what Tavi has been up to...? Probably fucking Natalie. 

My face instantly scrunched up at the thought of her, almost making me vomit in the process. Now that I mention Tavi, I wonder where he's been staying? I know it's been long enough for his apartment to be cleaned up after what happened but he never mentioned anything about it to anyone but me. 

...Probably staying with Natalie...

I almost threw up again. I quickly cleared my mind, trying to think of something else was when a wave of tiredness washed over me. Slowly pulling me into a deep sleep...

Time Skip:

My body quickly jolted up to the sound of a loud bang. I quickly spin my head around, checking my surroundings, however finding nothing. That was until I heard a faint knock against my window. When my eyes scanned the window to the living room. A grapple from the ground to my apartment, along with a green and gold figure that hung from the zip line. The figure waved at me, giving me a toothy grin in the process. The grin that belongs to non other than Octavio himself. I smiled at first, however it quickly went straight after the realisation hit me. I got up from the warm sofa, making my way to the window. He kept his eyes on me, until I started to pull the curtain down. Once the window was fully covered, he began banging harshly on the window. I stood there for a few seconds until realising that it wasn't worth it and he would most likely smash the window down if I didn't let him in. I sighed before pulling the curtains back up and unlocking the window next to the one that he stood on allowing him to quickly jump in before I could even change my mind. He turned back to the window, giving a thumbs up to Pathfinder that stood next to the start of the zip line before turning back to me. His eyes instantly met with mine through my mask.

"So your just gonna stand there and say nothing?" I said, crossing my arms in the process. He only sighed in return.

"I need to talk to you."

"Oh really you want to talk? Damn, I thought you just wanted to have a cup of fucking tea with me." I snickered at him before turning back into the room, making my way to the kitchen.

"Y/N, this is serious." I could hear his footsteps right behind me.

"I don't care on what you have to say Tavi."

"Y/N-" I quickly turned around, and pointed my finger right at his nose.

"Don't you fucking dare ever call me that again." I turned back around. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water, taking a big sip. He looked at me with hurtful eyes, however I tried my best to pay no attention. He placed his hand over his face and groaned before speaking once more.

"Por favor Y/N... Listen to me..." I looked at him and sighed. I can't say no to him when he's all sad and making that face. I placed the glass into the sink.

"Fine... You have five minutes Tavi..."

5 Minutes Later:

"So your telling me that the higher ups have said that we can't be seeing each other?" I questioned, trying to figure out if he was bullshitting or not. He nodded his head in return.

"Sí, because they think me and Natalie would be better for the brand and that they'll get more attention if it was that way round. They also said that it will 'affect our work' too" He looked at me with genuine eyes. As much as I hate to say it, but I think he isn't lying about this one. "They have cameras everywhere, so I can't be seen with you or else we'll be in trouble." He continued. All I could do is sigh.

"So if that's the case, why haven't they said anything to me?"

"No sé, but I think it was Natalie that started this." I looked at him with a confused look. "Listen hermosa I'm not too sure, but all I know is that I don't want to do this." He placed his hand on my leg, caressing it slowly. "No entiendes mi amor, but you don't realise how hard it is to not care about you." I smiled at him in return, placing my hand over his. 

"Thank you Tavi..." He smiled at me.

"No need to thank me hermosa, it's pathfinder you really should be thanking." He laughed along with me. 

"So... What does this mean for us then?" I asked, making his smile slowly form into a frown.

"I'm not sure hermosa... Para ser honesta, I don't thinkI can handle being away from you for so long. Especially if you start coming to all the games dressed like that." He winked, only for me to slap his hand. 

"Oh stop it, your not getting anything after what you did." I laughed as he pouted. He chuckled afterwards, then leaving us into a room filled with silence. After a few minutes of silence.

"We have to do this secretly, hermosa." He started, looking down at his feet as he removes his hand from my leg and places it over his own. I shuffled up next to him, this time placing my hand on his leg.

"We'll make it work Tavi." I smiled up at him. He looked at me and smiled back before placing a soft kiss on my forehead, making my cheeks instantly go red. He chuckled once he saw my face, making me giggle sheepishly too.

God, I didn't realise how much I missed this man up until now...

"So I thought I was paying for your clothes?" He started, making me instantly roll my eyes.

"Oh Tavi not this again." He laughed as he pulled at my arm, guiding me onto his lap. He placed his hands onto my ass and gave a small squeeze before speaking once more.

"I missed you..." I giggled at his comment, tracing my fingers over his abs.

"Eh, yea I guess I missed you too..." I teased, only to earn a hard slap on the ass. I yelp at the sensation.

"Oh come on hermosa, I know that's not the case." I only rolled my eyes in return. He wrapped his arms around my back and pulled me into him, holding onto me tightly.

"I probably shouldn't be here for long, knowing Natalie she'll be looking for me..." I sighed into his neck.

"Do you have to go?" I pulled away from him and looked at him in the eyes. He sighed back, rubbing his hands up and down my sides in the process.

"... I can stay for a while longer I guess..."
