The doorbell rang. And Sam's heart jumped from its place in her chest at the same time she stood up from the sofa. She was nervous. She couldn't lie to herself about that. She had been thinking about that meeting since she had texted Mon earlier that week. That day, Song was out training with her friends and teammates, so it was the perfect time for her to meet her. She had her house all to herself and she could talk calmly with Mon without them being interrupted.

When she heard the doorbell, she not only jumped into her place, but started sweating as well. She felt like a teenager once again. Like she wasn't a grown woman with a kid of her own. She could have suspected that her heart was telling her that Mon was the cause of that, but she didn't want to think about it. They were only having a conversation as adults who had a relationship in the past. "Because it is in the past", she had told herself over and over again. But her soul thought otherwise.

Sam got to the door, but didn't open it immediately. She took a deep breath, calming her nervousness, before she grabbed the handle and opened the door. On the other side, there was Mon, looking really cute and beautiful. She had decided to wear a white blouse under a dark pink jacket and white trousers. She hadn't done too much make up, or it seemed like she hadn't, but Sam thought she was perfect that way.

- Hello, Sam. - she said, with a little smile on her face.

- Hello, Mon. Nice to see you. - she imitated her, keeping her eyes on Mon's for a moment. They had the same brightness to them as she remembered.

- It's nice to see you too. - Mon replied, and looked over Sam's shoulder. That made the brunette come back to reality, realizing they were still in the door.

- Come on in. - she moved to her left side, to give her space to pass through the door. Mon smiled once more.

- Thank you. - she entered the house and Sam closed the door. When the brunette turned, she couldn't avoid her eyes going to Mon's back, maybe to a lower part of her body as well. When she realized what she was doing, she shook her head and kicked herself internally. "Sam, focus, for god's sake", she told herself, before she followed Mon, who was already in the living room.

- Do you want me to show you around the house? - Sam asked her, when she saw Mon looking around the place.

- That would be great. - Mon replied with a smile. The brunette nodded and started her house tour.

Sam showed Mon the two floors of the house. In the first one, the one she had entered the house trough, she found a not too big kitchen, a huge living room that could be used as a dining room for important occasions, and a small guests' bedroom with its bathroom. On the second floor, there was Song's bedroom, which had a lot of pink as Mon could see and point out. There was also, now, Sam's bedroom with its own bathroom, and the two offices, one of them was still the same as Kirk had left it. They both came down the stairs for Sam to show Mon the garage, which was also used as a lumber room, and the swimming pool besides the house door, with a little patio to enjoy the days with a nice wedding outside.

- So, that's about it. - Sam said, looking at Mon, who was close to the table on the patio.

- It's really nice. And simple at the same time. - Mon's words confused Sam, who frowned.

- What do you mean? - the brunette questioned.

- I mean that this place is huge and anyone could see that it is really expensive. But, at the same time, it's nice, warm and doesn't have the luxury and opulence of the house you lived in when you were younger. - Sam understood and had the right answer to give her.

- Well, that's because that place wasn't my home at all. For my own house, and Kirk agreed with me, we wanted it to feel comfortable and cozy. Like a home you want to come back to. And that's why we did it this way.
