Last Promises

Everyone starts heading out except Jimin. He's not moving. He's frozen in place, looking after everybody.

'Jimin, are you airight?' I ask him taking his hand in mine

'I think it just downed on me, right now, that I'm really leaving.' He looks terrified, he's shaking.

I put my hands on his face, making him face me.
'Jimin look at me. You will be okay. I promise. You are extraordinary. You can do anything you set your mind to. And the boys will join you soon enough. And I'll be waiting for you to come back to me.'

'Will you really wait?' I've never seen him this scared

I hug him tightly 'There is no one in this world for me but you.'

He relaxes a tiny bit, hugging me back.
'I don't want to leave you.'

'I don't wan't you to leave me either, but we have to go through this. Once it's done, we will never have to do it again. It's only a few months.' I tell him trying to sound like it's not a big deal, but I'm falling apart inside

'Y/N, can you do me a favour while I'm gone?' He asks, his voice soft

'Anything.' I look at him

He pulls out a box out of his pocket. The box is neither big nor small, it's almost the size of the standard envelope. The box itself is really pretty, dark purple velvet with gold ridges. It's beautiful.

'Can you keep this safe for me until I'm back? But please don't open it. Can you do that?' He asks putting it in my hand

I look at the box in my hand wondering what it is, then look up at him and nod.

'We will open it together when I'm back, okay?' He is smiling now

'Okay.' Is all I can say.

He pulls me in for the sweetest kiss, holding me firmly but gently. Much like you would hold a flower, trying not to pull on the petals.

'Let's go. It's time.' He says taking my free hand and walking out.

We get into the bus and he sits down, pulling me on him so I'm sitting in his lap. I'd usually say something, but he just hugs me and doesn't speak. He is still processing.
The guys are looking at him with worry in their eyes. They are not saying anything, letting him think a bit.

The bus starts moving. We are actually going.
Hi jolts a little at the bus movement, but doesn't let go.

We ride for a while in complete silence.

Suddenly Jungkook starts singing, surprising everyone.
He starts singing Serendipity, but he's imitating Jimin's voice.

Jimin looks at him for a few seconds then starts laughing.
Suddenly everyone starts laughing at Jungkook.

Thank you Jungkook.

The atmosphere changes and everyone relaxes.

'C'mon guys, no one is dying. He will be back. We all will. There is no point in being sad.' Says Namjoon cheering us up

'Let's make the last 2 hours a party. Tell stupid stories. Laugh.' Says J-hope

'Oh I want to hear embarrassing stories about Jimin.' I say excited

'Oh you've hit a goldmine!' Says Taehyung

'Oh, I'm not being embarrassed like this in my last moments. How could you betray me like this? You of all people?' Jimin starts complaining, yelling

'No, no, we're doing this.' Jin says

They told me at least 5 different stories about him, making everyone laugh.
Jimin was embarrassed to the point he was hiding his face behind me.
But he looked a lot better.
Thanks to that, he forgot about the fear.
