ALLY

"Shit. It's cold," I complained, rubbing my hands together hoping I was gifted with a magical wand to cast the Incendio spell to keep ourselves warm.

After our long overdue exchange, the night suddenly became too cold to bear. We ran to the comfort of his car, dragging along the leftover Thai food in the bag and his folded blanket.

A blast of heat blew out from the vent in front of me. Harvey had turned up the heater to maximum level.

"God bless this car," I praised.

I felt like I entered heaven as the heated leather seat brought back life to my frozen behind.

"Better?" he asked as he directed all the vents in my direction.

I sighed in relief. "Much better," I turned and smiled at him. "Thanks."

He kept hold of my gaze as he slowly leaned forward. His moistened lips radiated that rosy hue after it had been sucked by yours truly. A proudful smile painted my face. The swelling of his lips was much more evident with the lights that projected from the screen of his Audi.

His lips found mine and I shut my eyes as we glided our tongues together. He cupped my face in between his warm hands and kissed me harder. And deeper.

I couldn't tell if he or his heated seat was to blame, but I was burning down there. I'd never felt this kind of burn before. I clenched my thighs together after the moisture of my legs became more evident.

Bzzz. Bzzz. Bzzz. Bzzz.

The vibration made us pull away from each other. We searched around for the source of this rude interruption and found the culprit. My hand scavenged for my phone in my purse that I blatantly threw on the floor of his car and the word Mom lit up the screen.

I checked the time on my phone and it was past eight. Before I could think of picking up, which I had no intention to, the buzzing finally stopped and the screen of my phone turned black.

Five missed calls.

I wrecked my brain wondering why she bothered to call me these many times.

"You okay?" He was surveying the confused look on my face. "Yup! I'll call her once I get to my car."

He held onto my hand as he drove out of the museum district.

We drove on Lake shore drive with Mumford and Sons filling the silent air between us. I stared out into the lake. It was too dark to see the water as it was consumed by the darkness of the night. There were light posts along the pedestrian and bike lane of the lake, but past that was just nothingness. I imagined the sound of the waves crashing against the boulders, but we were driving past 60 mph, and I wasn't brave enough to face the cold air that would've slapped my face if I rolled the windows down.

"You were right," he finally spoke. His dominant hand squeezed mine as it remained in his possession.

"Huh," confused as I turned my attention to him.

He kept his eyes on the road, but his skin wrinkled along his eyes as he smiled. "Earlier when you said this is really nice. I agree. This is nice," he said as he looked down on our interlocked fingers for a split second before returning his eyes to the road. His thumb caressed my hand in a circular motion, just like how it all started.

My shoulder dropped as the weight of uncertainty eased off of me and I felt myself emerging from a chrysalis of a guilt-conscious slammer.

Instead of dropping me off before parking his car as I requested, which would've been more practical and faster, he insisted on walking me right up to my car. We kept going back and forth, but in the end, he got what he wanted. He was in control of the wheel after all.

We ambled along the street where I had parked my car, delaying my departure as much as possible.

"This is me," I finally stopped my tracks as we reached my car.

"This wasn't far enough," he furrowed his eyebrows together, annoyed.

I grinned at his irritation. "Mr. Hughes, Is that annoyance I detect?" I joked.

"It is."

My mouth fell open in an animated shock. "Oh, boy," I said through the palm I had covered my mouth with.

I placed my other hand on his arm, comforting this incredibly beautiful being standing inches away from me.

"Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" I offered. I knew how to make him feel better. But, I wanted to hear it come out of his mouth.

If only I could turn my explicit thoughts and desires into action at that very moment. But, I know that I shouldn't. At least, not right now. Not yet. I was already beating myself up for kissing him earlier. God only knew how much self restraint I had to conjure. I winced with embarrassment. I couldn't believe I wanted to ride him. Worse, I tried to do it in public. What a fucking shame I am.

He answered with his lips on mine. "You're so beautiful, Ally," he confessed in between our kisses as he brushed the loose hair off of my face.

"I could say the same to you too,'' I returned a smile. He groaned in response. I giggled, "you sound like you're in pain." I couldn't even explain what that sound did to my body. It was like a doorbell into my openings.

"You have no idea. You should go before I lose the self control to let you go."

I looked up at him, eyes wide open in shock. He unwrapped his arms that kept me safe and warm. "That was really hot," I said as I tapped my petite palm on his hardened chest. I stepped back, creating the space between us that neither of us wanted, but most definitely needed.

If looks could kill, he definitely had that look after I said that. I couldn't help but laugh at his response. It amazed me how expressive he was from everything that I have done or said, so far.

"You're toying with me, but that's only because I let you."

I shrugged in response, still laughing as I backed away further from him and reached for the door handle.

"If you say so, Mr. Hughes." I couldn't help but smile, which turned into a fit of giggles at his reaction.

God knew how much I enjoyed teasing him. He was probably trying to preserve his manliness, but my self confidence was through the roof that I hadn't expected to find the nape of my neck cupped in his hand. He securely gripped my hair in between his fingers as he kissed me, hard. His lips devoured me and I let him. My knees buckled, but at the same time, he caught me and pressed us against my car. I couldn't breathe, but I couldn't find myself to pull away from this. I was too weak to save myself. Then, my mouth was left open and empty. The air pushed its way into my lungs as my own body betrayed me.

The warmth of his breath tickled my ear as he groaned his last words to me. "Hmm, only because I let you." Then, he walked away.

This time, my mouth fell to the ground. I could see his proudness through the rise and fall movement of his shoulder. Once he was a safe distance from me, he turned around and instructed me to get in my car. I obeyed like a loyal subject.

I sat inside the haven of my car. What the fuck just happened? I thought I had him, but he was one step ahead of me. I shook in disbelief at how speechless I was. It was embarrassing, but fuck, that felt so good that I would gladly hand him my pride on a silver platter just to feel that again.

I looked at my side mirror and found him still standing there. He was watching me.

Oh no, he was waiting for me to leave.

I finally started the engine and got out of the parking space in one attempt, thank God. Before I drove away, I rolled down my window and stuck my head out. With a smile, I wished him goodnight.

He returned that comforting smile, "until later, Ally."
