Chapter 3
Tris POV:
I walk home listening to piano music on my iPod which is tucked into my pocket. Once I get home I drop my bag and grab an apple from the table. I head upstairs and start to practice playing my piano. I've been playing since I was six. It's my only way to disappear from the world, and every time I play it's like my heart is inside the piano- like the music is a part of me that keeps me living. I have never thought about my career, although I am a total fangirl so I might be an author. I remember Four frowning at the Shakespeare book, and I shiver with discomfort. I stop playing. Gosh why is he taking over my mind. I start to play again but I don't think I'm actually focused. To be honest, I don't mind Shakespeare, I love Charles Dickens though. And John green.
About 20 minutes later I hear the door shut. "Caleb? Is that you?" I yell. "Yeah." He says. I mostly live with my brother Caleb. I say mostly because my parents are always at work and come back late at night so I hardly get to see them. I just turned 16 last week. My family bought me a huge cake with a picture of Augustus Waters on it. I was laughing so hard. My room is filled with fandom posters. I lay in bed that night wondering if I'll ever have a friend. Then again I have thousands of friends in my fandoms. Fandom before blood.

I wake up sweating from a horrible nightmare. I look at the clock. It's 7.30. Oh god. I have to be at school by 7.45. I already had a shower last night so I put my hair in a shower cap and just wash my body. I wear black jeans, a tfios shirt with a jacket and my white converse. I put my hair into a side braid and grab my bag. I eat a muffin then brush my teeth and leave. I walk to school and when I get there I rush to home room. I look at my phone. It's 8.00am. Oh gosh Miss Henderson is going to kill me. I rush up the stairs and into the room. Everyone was throwing paper around a minute ago, but now they're staring towards me. "Nice of you to be here Miss Prior. Why are you late?" She says sitting up. "I-I don't know." I say. Why do I feel nervous? It's not because I'm late it's something, no someone. But I can't seem to figure out who or what it is. "Well that's no good excuse so you will stay behind with me for 15 minutes after school." She says going back to her computer. I go and sit down and get out The Maze runner. After about 5 minutes I look up and realize what it is. It's him. Four. He's been watching me ever since I came into the room. He catches my eye and I look away and carry on reading.
