I Don't Need Help

Start from the beginning

Ao Ji stifled a hum of agreement, "Maybe that is partially the reason why her mother left in the first place. Maybe the clan is not fit for Jinhua nor she is fit for the clan."

"Stop speaking in riddles, breathing lizard—! Jinhua could totally lead a bitty clan. She was perfectly fine at that temple in Guan Yin's grounds." Wukong argued back.

Macaque held a hand over the bottom half of his face at the memory, "And god damn... I didn't know whether to be intimidated or captivated." He spoke up knavishky.

The Shu Wujing, Zhu Baije, and Wukong all erupted in rambunctious laughter at the comment from their lanky sorcerer.

Ao Ji and Tang both watched with amused grins as they glanced over at the flushing demoness.

"Well... Maybe I will... But I'd like to think on it before you fools start attacking on command like a group of feral low class demons." She snapped.

They all let out groans of disbelief.

Jinhua couldn't help but let out a giddy laugh, "I'm grateful to have such loving comrades such as you..."

With that they all quieted down and stared at Jinhua's genuine smile as she looked on at them.

Staring down at the two demons, Jinhua held a scowl on her lips with a firm glare piercing the top of their bowed heads.

"What in Buddha's name went through your minds when you told MK that—!?"

Both kept quiet as they kept their foreheads to the floor, feeling the pressure press down on them.

"That boy looks up to Wukong... And telling him that is the same as destroying his world..." Jinhua wrapped her arms around herself in worry as she looked the side, "He doesn't need that..."

Jin whipped his head up, "I don't regret telling him...!"

Yin looked over at his brother surprised, "Jin—!"

Jinhua raised a brow, "Excuse me..?"

Taking a gulp, Jin continued with a brave face, "He needed to know..! I can't help but think that's it's unfair that he's learning under a murderer and a liar—!" He spat out.

Yin couldn't help but agree, "You might not notice this Lady Jinhua, but he is slowly hurting you too."

"What—?" She muttered.

"He is slowly becoming just like the Monkey King, and is reminding you of the past...."

"Before the tragedy he means..."

Jinhua stiffened at the accusation, her finger twitched slightly as she felt like she needed to say that they're wrong but deep down she couldn't deny the truth.

MK is slowly becoming just like Wukong whether she likes it or not.

Letting out a shuddering breath, Jinhua turned around and let out a small chuckle, "So you two decided to break the ice first and tell him the truth. Is that it?" Her hands trailed up and down her arms as a shiver of remembrance came back to haunt her.

Yin and Jin glanced at eachother before looking over at the demoness with small frowns, "We're sorry...."

"We thought it was the best option... We only did it for you..."

Jinhua breathe hitched at the statement which sounded far too familiar for her nerves.

"We wanted to help you—."

"I don't need anyone's help..." Jinhua placed her hand on the counter, her claws digging into the wooden when she curled her hand into a fist, "Helping me has only brought me sadness and grief over a loved one..." Her mind flashing to three individuals.

"I cannot afford to bring people into my unnecessary problems..." She glanced at them with an unreadable expression, "Send my regards to Princess Iron Fan and her husband when you see them at the race. And if you see Mei and MK tell them I wish them good luck." And with that, she bounded out of the room with her robes gliding behind her.

The twin demons looked at eachother with disgruntled frowns, "I think we did something bad, brother..." Yin looked back at the door that Jinhua closed behind her.

"Agreed, Yin..."

Stepping into her cabin after closing shop by herself, Jinhua dropped her bag into the hanging racket and carried onward to the fridge to find some canned tea.

Her eyes then trailed over to the calabash vase, sitting on the counter of her island table.

Glancing back at her plate of biscuits and scones, she let out a sigh as she left them to investigate the strange relic that the twins had gotten ahold of.

Waving her hand over the strange wispy fog that traveled around the relic, Jinhua felt the fog travel around her fingers in a dancing like manner.

But the faint childish giggle made her heart drop. Her skin crawled at the sound of a child's laughter reaching her ears.

She didn't know if this was some prank of some child demon, but the laughter sounded all too close to a certain demonic god, for her own liking.

Waving the fog away like it was smoke in her lungs, Jinhua snapped her fingers and the vase erupted into the bright flickering gold flames she found comfort in.

As she turned back to her plate of biscuits, the place the vase rested on was nothing but crumbled pieces of ash and the harsh smell of burning sorcery.

Her eyes narrowed at the accursed stench in the room.

"I can only pray that the one who gave them this relic is only doing this for shits and giggles..." A low growl rolled out of her throat like a lioness on the prowl.

"If not, then I hope they don't cross my path."
