Third man point of view
Jenny sobbed into his chest and he wrapped his arms around her, wanting to shield her, to protect her from the evil world she had come to know. He knew about the demons that harassed her. He wanted to keep her safe. Jake didn't say a word. He just wrapped them together in a world that was made of only the two of them. Things were clear but not really clear but that can wait. He wanted her to be safe from the demons in her head. A tear slipped from his eyes and he watched it disappear into her hair. He could see a beautiful girl turned into a monster, because society forced her to.
"Lord, keep her safe."
He whispered that prayer to the God he knew could perform miracles. He prayed for his friend.
He looked back down and found she was asleep in his arms.
Safe and sound.
